After getting out of the ward, Clara tilted her head up and took a few deep breaths, trying to hold back her tears. She told herself that she should get used to it.
Clara walked to the doctor's duty room, only to see Andre around the corner.
"Clara, how is your mother going now?" Andre was excited to see Clara. However, hardly had he got very worried when he saw her bloodshot eyes.
He guessed Clara must have been exhausted these days. However, Andre could do nothing for her.
"She's awake, and I'm getting a doctor to check her out. Thank you for asking." Clara smiled and returned, "And how about you? It has been so many days since you got injured."
Clara was responsible for Andre's injury, so she felt a little sorry for him, even if she always ignored him at the beginning.
"It's fine, I almost recovered." Andre gave a smile and was very pleased with Clara's care for him. "I had planned to be discharged, but the doctor advised me to spend another two days."
"He's right. You'd better not go home until you recover." Clara's face was full of worry. "Otherwise, your injury may get worse."
"Well, I see." Andre happily agreed, but then, something struck him, and he quickly got serious.
"What's wrong?" Seeing the change in Andre's expression, Clara asked curiously.
"Clara, you must be careful lately." Andre solemnly admonished, "Yesterday Laura asked me to set you up. I was furious and told her that I would not help her again. However, I'm afraid that even without my help, she will still plot against you, so you must be careful."
Hearing Andre's words, Clara got gloomy, surprised that Laura remained alive!
"I see, I'll be careful these days. Thank you." Clara seriously thanked Andre. "Then I'll go to the doctor first. Take care!"
"Okay, see you," Andre waved his hand at Clara and spoke.
After the doctor gave Helena a careful examination, he told Clara that there was nothing wrong with Helena, which relieved Clara of her worry.
For the upcoming days, Clara spent all her time in the hospital taking care of Helena, during which Laura came a few times. However, Clara knew what Laura wanted to do.
Horace was very worried about Clara, so he came whenever he was free, because of which Laura came as well.
"Horace and I are divorced, so I can't ask him to do anything he dislikes!" Clara had been committed to taking care of Helena these days, so she was irritated by Helena's reproach.
"Laura, if you want to see Horace, just go to his company. I have nothing to do with him now, so I am not that able to persuade him to forgive you."
After finishing her words coldly, Clara picked up her phone and left the ward.
Out of the hospital, Clara took a taxi back to the Hutchinson's. She was almost worn out lately, so she urgently needed to go home and get some rest. Otherwise, she would emotionally collapse.
When Clara returned home, she found that Logan had not finished his business trip and that Neo was still in school. After greeting the servant, Clara went straight upstairs to her bedroom and slept. Exhausted, Clara wanted to do nothing but sleep.
Clara had slept well for many days, so she quickly fell into a deep dreamless sleep. By the time Clara woke up, she found that it was dark outside.
Rubbing her eyes, Clara got up and sat up. She suddenly smelt the porridge from downstairs, which triggered a rumbling belly.
Clara wondered whether it was Logan. Curious, Clara got dressed and went downstairs, only to see that the one who was cooking in the kitchen was Neo rather than Logan.
