"Hah!" Charlie let out a cold scoff. "No wonder."
Carson's head was splitting. He rubbed his temples. "She's absolute in her decision. I don't even have the chance to apologize."
"Then don't apologize. Just leave it at that. Isn't it better to go back to playing the field like you used to? Why settle down?" Charlie teased, his tone unreadable.
"Charlie," Carson practically begged.
Charlie was silent for a moment. "Come out tonight. We'll talk in person."
"Alright," Carson agreed. "Don't bother Jonathan though. Estelle is pregnant, he won't be able to leave her side."
"Yeah," Charlie replied flatly and hung up.
Carson set his phone down and tried to focus on his work. After clocking out, he drove straight to 9th Mansion.
When he walked in, he was surprised to see both Charlie and Jonathan waiting.
"Jonathan!" Carson greeted.
Jonathan gave a slight smile. "Magdalen is staying at Villa del Sol tonight, so Ella gave me a two-hour pass. Charlie said you needed some comforting."
Charlie flashed an elegant smile. "That wasn't exactly my phrasing. I said you needed to be thoroughly chewed out, and since no one's got a sharper tongue than him, how could he skip it?"
Jonathan glanced at him. "Shouldn't you be the authority on this subject?"
Charlie was quick to defend himself. "Oh no, ever since I got together with Emily, every other woman on earth looks like a genderless robot to me."
Jonathan looked at Carson. "What are your actual thoughts on this?"
Carson sat down across from them, lit a cigarette, and said grimly, "I have zero interest in other women. That night..."
He didn't know how to explain it.
Charlie seemed to understand exactly where Carson's head was at. "Right now, you only have two choices. Option one: Break up with Marina, go back to your swarm of women, live free of emotional ties, and be as reckless as you want. Option two: Win Marina back. But if you choose her, you can't touch another woman again. Forget kissing—you can't even give anyone else a second glance."
"Drink your tea!" Charlie quickly stood up and refilled Jonathan's cup. "We're here to solve Carson and Marina's problem today. No need to dig up ancient history."
Jonathan sipped his tea and turned to Carson. "The fact that she's being so ruthless just proves she still has feelings for you. If the feelings are there, it can be salvaged."
Charlie laughed. "If all else fails, just learn from Jonathan!"
Jonathan narrowed his eyes. "Learn what from me?"
Charlie counted on his fingers. "Learn his strategy. Step one: Use your proximity to get close to her. Step two: Sneak into her life quietly and become indispensable. Step three: Get her into bed and seal the deal."
"Meaning?" Carson asked.
Jonathan summed it up perfectly.
"Pester her relentlessly."
