Erin panicked. "It has to be on purpose! Someone tampered with the cameras. This was completely premeditated!"
Carson suppressed the sheer panic rising in his chest, forcing himself to stay rational. He frowned, thought for a split second, then turned and strode out the door.
With his long legs, he moved so fast Erin had to jog just to keep up. "Do you know who took her?"
"No idea. Go back to your hotel and wait. I'll call you the second I find her," Carson commanded, his voice cold and hard.
"How am I supposed to just sit around and wait?" Erin demanded frantically.
*Slam!*
Carson shut the car door and peeled out into the street.
Left standing on the sidewalk, Erin furiously cursed him out.

Rowena was sitting in the living room feeding her exotic cat when Carson violently shoved past the maids and stormed into the house.
"Carson!" Rowena jumped up. After a brief flicker of panic, she quickly masked it, acting completely unbothered. "What brings you here?"
Carson's eyes swept toward the second floor. "Is my father here?" he demanded.
Rowena subtly exhaled in relief, offering a sickeningly sweet smile. "No, he hasn't been by in days."
Carson's face was completely devoid of emotion. "His driver told me he dropped him off here. I have an urgent matter to discuss with him!"
With that, he started up the stairs.
"Carson!" Rowena immediately chased after him, but two massive bodyguards who had followed Carson inside blocked her path.
"What is the meaning of this?" Rowena shrieked in outrage. "This is my home! You're trespassing, and now you're restricting my movement? I'm calling the police right now!"
The two hulking men didn't say a word, just staring her down with dead eyes.
Upstairs, Carson grabbed a terrified maid. "Which room is Kai's?"
She was deeply unconscious. Carson glanced at the empty syringe on the nightstand, and the murderous cold in his eyes intensified.
He pulled back the covers. Seeing that she was still wearing her undergarments and her pants were untouched, he let out a microscopic breath of relief. He picked her sweater off the floor, gently dressed her, wrapped his own coat securely around her, and scooped her up into his arms.
The moment he stepped into the hall, Rowena's hysterical wailing echoed from downstairs.
She had heard Kai's screams and fought desperately to get up the stairs, but Carson's bodyguards held her back. She was thrashing and screaming like a madwoman.
As Carson carried Marina downstairs, Rowena glared at him, her face streaked with tears and pure terror. "Where's my boy? What did you do to Kai?"
Carson's lips were pressed into a thin line, his eyes burning with absolute violence. He walked straight over and kicked her square in the chest.
Rowena was frail to begin with. The brutal kick sent her crashing over the sofa, knocking the wind completely out of her. She passed out cold. The maid, Lynn, rushed over, screaming, "Ma'am! Ma'am!"
Carson ignored them, adjusting his hold on Marina, and strode out the front door.
Once in the car, his phone wouldn't stop ringing. There were already over a dozen missed calls. He finally answered it.
