Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3539

Just like that other night, Marina spent her dreams feeling trapped and tangled up. She even dreamed about the giant octopus in the water again.

In her dream, she angrily threatened it, "If you don't let me go, I'm going to roast you!"

The next second, the scenery shifted. She was on a beach with a campfire, actively roasting the octopus.

The massive creature was skewered on a thick stick resembling sugarcane, roasting over the open flames. As Marina turned the spit, the nearly-charred octopus seemingly took revenge by spraying a handful of slimy black ink all over her...

The rest of her dreams that night were fragmented. She felt like she spent the entire time eating that octopus. After all, it was huge—more than enough to feed her for days.

Carson woke up before she did. He was leaning against the headboard, watching her wake up with a look of pure amusement.

Marina met his eyes, the memories of the previous night slowly flooding back.

Carson reached out and brushed his thumb against the corner of her mouth, chuckling. "What were you eating in your dream? You were practically drooling."

Marina instinctively reached up to wipe her mouth, but felt nothing. That's when she realized she'd been tricked.

Still half-asleep, she mumbled, "Roast octopus. It was bullying me. Once it was roasted, it was perfectly well-behaved... and delicious."

"An octopus?"

Carson looked confused.

Marina cracked her eyes open and gave him a sideways glare. "An octopus with four tentacles. Gets incredibly clingy when drunk, and even clingier when sleeping. Ever seen one?"

Carson let out a gorgeous, charming laugh. He lay back down, cupping her face in his hands, his eyes sparkling with mirth. "And you ate it?"

Dawn was just breaking. The curtains hadn't been completely drawn, allowing a sliver of morning light to spill into the room. It illuminated the striking clarity of his eyes, creating a mesmerizing, soft glow.

Marina had her back to the light, her elegant features cast in shadow. She looked aloof and guarded, but she was entirely incapable of escaping his gravitational pull.

He was right. Who was she saving herself for?

His kiss shifted from tender to demanding, leaving her no time to think or resist. He wanted her, and he wanted to give himself to her.

"You are not allowed to say stop this time. And I won't go easy on you."

Marina yielded to his relentless advance, only managing to regain enough sanity at the final second to ask a single question.

Carson pulled back, forcing himself to snap out of the intoxicating haze of lust. He breathed heavily. "Wait right here."

Marina gave a barely perceptible nod.

He got out of bed and left the room. Marina thought he was just going to the master bedroom to grab protection, but to her surprise, she heard him throw on his clothes and walk out the front door.

Marina exhaled softly, a little burst of joy warming her chest. At the very least, this proved he had never brought another woman back to this apartment before.
