Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3498

Marina was deeply touched by the story and couldn't hide her curiosity. "What happened next?"

Miranda smiled softly, lost in the memory. "After I married into the Foster family, I started to distance myself from him. Even though our consciences were completely clear, marriage meant I was no longer just an individual; my every action reflected on two entirely different families. He sensed the distance I was putting between us, and we gradually drifted apart."

Marina felt a twinge of regret but understood completely. "I won't be having any more contact with Kai either."

Miranda's tone was filled with pity. "I know you're doing this for Carson, giving up your own passion and hard work. Carson is just blinded by jealousy and resentment right now. He'll figure it out eventually."

Marina lowered her eyes and stayed quiet.

"His grandfather asked today if you and Carson have set a wedding date," Miranda continued. "After all, you've been engaged for quite some time."

Marina shook her head. "I haven't thought about it."

Miranda looked at her with an incredibly soft gaze. "I know. I understand exactly what's going through your head, so I'm not in any rush. Not unless one day you come to me yourself and say you want to marry him."

Marina looked back at the woman, her heart swelling with emotion. "Thank you!"

Miranda flashed a beautiful, reassuring smile. "Don't worry. As long as I'm around, no one is going to give you a hard time."

Marina believed her completely. She knew exactly how much power Miranda wielded within the Foster family. There were even matters where Grandpa Foster would consult Miranda before informing his own son, Barton.

Miranda's fierce protectiveness warmed Marina's heart, and this conversation had drawn the two of them even closer.

They chatted for a little while longer until a maid approached, letting Miranda know that Grandpa Foster needed to speak with her.
