Arriving at the Foster family estate, Carson Foster parked the car, and the two of them walked along the path toward the villa.
Marina Evert suddenly remembered something and stopped in her tracks. "Is Kai coming?"
Carson paused and turned around. His deep gaze locked onto her as a faint smile touched his lips. "Do you want him to come, or not?"
Marina's expression faded, and she pursed her lips tightly.
Carson was quick to answer. "He won't be coming. From now on, you won't see him at any family gatherings."
Marina thought about what Nocturne had said during their last meeting at the teahouse. She couldn't help but speak up. "Is this because of the manga? Don't you think you're going too far? Even if he is an illegitimate child, it wasn't his choice. He's a Foster, your father's son, and your grandfather's grandson. What right do you have to banish him from here?"
Carson's gaze turned instantly cold, hitting her like a bitter, biting winter wind.
"Marina," he warned, his voice dropping low. "Do you want to think carefully about what you're saying right now?"
Her heart skipped a beat, and she bit her lower lip.
Carson cast a chilling glance over her face, then turned and continued walking.
Marina stood frozen for a moment before finally hurrying to catch up.
Carson kept his distance, staying a few steps ahead of her, but he didn't walk into the villa alone. He deliberately waited at the door so they could enter together.
The elders of the Foster family were all present and greeted Marina warmly.
Carson was the eldest grandson and Grandpa Foster's favorite. Naturally, their affection extended to Marina as well.
Carson slipped effortlessly back into his role, wearing a polite, elegant smile. Whenever someone asked when they were planning to hold the wedding, he would look at Marina with absolute tenderness and say adoringly, "Whenever Marina wants!"
In short, he gave her the utmost respect in front of everyone.
