Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3484

Marina drove away from the apartment, her chest tight with an anger she had no way to vent.

She wanted to find someone to grab a drink with, but Erin was miles away in H City, Summer was away on a business trip, and Trixie was out on a date with her boyfriend. She couldn't find a single person to keep her company.

She drove aimlessly for what felt like hours before finally pulling up outside a restaurant. She went in and ordered a table full of food just for herself.

Once she was full, she went back to wandering the streets.

She didn't want to go back to the Evert house. Her mood was foul, and she was genuinely afraid that if anyone in her family provoked her tonight, she might burn the place down.

She parked her car and sat alone on a bench in a public square, watching the bustling crowds around her.

She suddenly remembered the night she had a massive fight with her parents. She had been sitting alone in a square late at night then, too. Carson had come looking for her, bought her food, and taken her back to his apartment.

It hit her then just how little she actually knew about Carson Foster.

On the surface, he always seemed like the perfect gentleman—considerate, patient, and endlessly charming. Yet, his actions were ruthlessly calculating and vicious. He manipulated people with even more ease than he used to charm women.

He was half saint, half sinner.

The saint in him was shaped by Mrs. Foster's influence—an elegant, refined aristocrat. The sinner in him was born out of the complicated, cutthroat dynamics of the Foster family, a world where he was forced to learn how to scheme to survive from the day he was born.

Aside from his mother, he probably hadn't truly trusted a single person in his entire life.

Marina didn't go back to The Riverside Apartments. She only returned one afternoon to pack up all her belongings and leave.

She didn't go back to the Evert estate either. She was already in a bad mood, and being in that house would only make it worse.

She owned two properties in J City—a villa in N City and a high-rise condo—but both were a terrible commute to her office.
