Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3451

Marina pushed the jewelry box back across the desk. "I understand, but I can't accept this. Just keep doing great work—that's the best way to show your appreciation. I'll notice it, I promise."

"Ms. Evert," Yuri Lestrade said, a hint of anxiety in his voice. "This doesn't really have anything to do with work. I just thought it would look beautiful on you. I know you don't lack for jewelry, and this wasn't very expensive, but I spent a long time picking it out. Please, just take it."

Marina held her ground. "If you keep pushing this, I'm going to get mad."

Yuri's expression dimmed. He reluctantly took the box back. "Compared to what Mr. Foster gives you, my gift is definitely too cheap."

Marina laughed. "That doesn't matter."

She finished reviewing the documents and pushed them toward Yuri. "Focus on your work."

Yuri picked up the files and stood. "I'll work even harder."

Marina nodded. As she watched him walk away, she shook her head with an amused smile.

The busy day quickly passed. Since she got off work early, Marina grabbed a quick bite at home, then logged online to wait for Nocturne to discuss their manga.

Wednesday night, just before nine.

Marina had just finished sketching a set of storyboards when she heard the front door open.

The only person who barged in without knocking was Carson Foster.

Marina closed her sketchbook, stood up, and walked toward the living room.

Carson shrugged off his suit jacket. He glanced at the small desk she had set up on the balcony and flashed a faint smile. "You could just use my study. You don't have to cram yourself in there."

"It's great out here. The view is wide open, and the inspiration just flows!" Marina grinned. "What brings you by?"

She rolled her eyes playfully. "Don't tell me you're here to check up on me?"

Carson paused, jacket in hand, and shot her a sidelong glance. "Do you really think I'm that petty?"
