Aunt Charlotte's face contorted with triumph. "I knew it!"
"You knew what?" Carson cut in, his voice dropping to a dangerous chill. "We aren't finished here."
He turned back to his tech team. "Which company manufactured this?"
The technician answered without missing a beat. "We've already pulled the data. It's a product of Apex Electronics."
"Contact their CEO immediately. Use the product's trace code to find exactly who purchased it," Carson ordered.
"Yes, sir!"
Carson's team dialed Apex Electronics on the spot. The moment the executives on the other end heard that the CEO of the Foster Group was personally inquiring, they scrambled to cooperate. Within minutes, they had identified both the buyer and the programmer who customized the code.
Carson told them to bring the programmer directly to the Evert estate.
His ruthless, lightning-fast execution left the Evert family completely stunned.
While they waited for the Apex team to arrive, Carson's oppressive presence forced the family to dial back their arrogance.
Only Aunt Charlotte muttered under her breath, "It's good we're getting to the bottom of this. Just make sure you don't shoot yourself in the foot."
Carson completely ignored her petty remarks. He leaned in close to Marina, his demeanor shifting instantly into relaxed elegance. He spoke to her in low, affectionate tones, asking how she had been sleeping since she moved out, reminding her not to overwork herself, and telling her to take care of her health.
His gentle, doting behavior made Phoebe narrow her eyes, a dark glint flashing in her pupils. She forced a warm smile. "You are so good to my sister, Carson. She used to complain about this marriage all the time, fighting with her parents about it constantly. But looking at you two now, my sister is truly lucky."
Marina's lips curled into a sharp smile, though her eyes were glacial. "Since Carson is here today, let's clear the air once and for all."
She turned to Carson. "My Aunt Charlotte just claimed that you were originally supposed to marry Phoebe, and that my parents used underhanded tricks to force you into choosing me. Is that true?"
