The private hotel suite had an open floor plan, with only a decorative, open-back bookshelf separating the sitting area from the bedroom.
The moment they ducked out of sight, the main door clicked open.
"Mr. Hanson!"
A woman giggled, her arms wrapped tightly around a man's neck as he kissed her passionately.
The man kicked the door shut and backed her into the suite, moving with reckless urgency.
Norah peeked through the bookshelf. She couldn't see the man's face, but she had a clear view of the woman leaning back in his arms, looking flushed and eager.
It was Gonzalez's date!
The one he claimed was his assistant.
Shocked, she turned to Gonzalez to point out that his date was currently making out with someone else. But his expression was dangerously calm. He didn't look surprised at all.
"Missed me, baby?" the man slurred. His voice was thick with alcohol and sounded distinctly older.
"We can't do this here!" the woman protested weakly, still clinging to him. "What if Gonzalez comes looking for me?"
"Let him look!" Oliver Hanson bragged loudly. "Even if he stood right here and watched us, he wouldn't dare say a damn thing! Without me, the Hanson family's company is finished!"
"You're the real boss, of course," Kim flattered him, giggling. "But didn't you say you still need me to spy on Gonzalez? If he finds out about us, my cover is blown."
"Relax, he won't find us here!" Driven by lust, Oliver silenced her with another heavy kiss, pulling at the bodice of her evening gown as he dragged her toward the bedroom.
Norah backed away, shooting Gonzalez a complicated look.
What kind of mess was this?
His assistant was a corporate spy planted by Oliver Hanson, and they were having a sleazy affair on the side.
