Janice's tone grew even heavier. "What I'm asking is, are you going on a trip with Gonzalez Hanson?"
"Yeah, why?" Norah found her mother's tone incredibly strange.
Janice suddenly didn't know what to say.
She was well aware that Gonzalez had returned to the Hanson family to take over their empire. What she couldn't understand was how Norah had gotten tangled up with him again.
She had clearly forgotten all about him!
"Don't worry," Norah added cheerfully. "Sara and Adrian are here too. There are four of us. It's totally safe."
Hearing Adrian's name finally made Janice relax a fraction. "Just be careful, okay?"
"Got it. I'm hanging up now!"
Norah lowered her phone, assuming her mother was just being overly paranoid because of her recent car accident.
"Was that Mrs. Harper?" Adrian asked casually.
"Yeah," Norah nodded. "I already told her about the trip yesterday. I have no idea why she felt the need to call again."
Adrian already had a pretty good idea, but he kept his mouth shut.
Norah claimed Sara was the one who invited Gonzalez. But was Sara really the reason Gonzalez agreed to come on a camping trip?
What was his endgame here?
He didn't appreciate Norah before, and now that she had lost her memory of him, he wanted to chase her again?
A cold sneer formed in Adrian's mind. He refused to believe that after forgetting Gonzalez once, Norah would just blindly fall for him a second time.
Over an hour later, they finally left the city limits. Heading east, the towering skyscrapers thinned out, replaced by stunning natural scenery.
It felt like forever since Norah had last been out on a trip. Watching the majestic mountain ranges roll into view lifted her spirits immensely.
