Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2521

Sylvia and another nurse finished tending to Eugene’s wounds just as the police stepped in to ask some questions.

Eugene recounted everything he’d seen and knew.

He explained that he’d come with a friend, who happened to know the owner of TENDA. They’d ended up in a private lounge, chatting.

When Amy entered, Eugene thought she looked vaguely familiar. But with so many people in the dimly lit room, he didn’t realize she worked for Sylvia.

The TENDA owner and a few other men kept pushing drinks on Amy. Before long, she was so out of it she could barely stand—clearly, it wasn’t just alcohol affecting her.

She tried to resist, but Felix, the owner, slapped her and sneered, “You come knocking on my door this late, pretending to be innocent? Since you’re here, even if your boss Sylvia shows up, you’re not leaving with your clothes on.”

It was only then, after hearing that, that Eugene recognized Amy as one of Sylvia’s employees.

He’d always despised Felix’s bullying ways; knowing Amy worked for Sylvia gave him even more reason to intervene. Eugene stood up and said, “Mr. Matz, she came to discuss business. If she’s not interested, let it go. Why not call in a few hostesses instead? Wouldn’t that be more fun?”

But Felix was drunk and wouldn’t back down. He insisted Amy strip in front of everyone.

Eugene shielded Amy, and after a heated argument, things got physical.

Now, in front of the police, Eugene left out the details. He simply said Felix was forcing a girl and he couldn’t stand by and watch.

The officer asked, “How are you feeling? If you’re able, would you mind coming down to the station to make a statement?”

“Of course,” Eugene agreed, nodding.

Sylvia stood up. “I’ll come with you.”

Eugene quickly turned to her. “No, you don’t have to. It’s late, you should get some rest.”

Milanda grabbed her bag. “You too, boss. Let’s check on Lydia together in the morning.”

“Alright, let’s head out.”

After giving the nurse a few more instructions, Sylvia left with Milanda.

Outside the hospital’s main entrance, Milanda waved goodbye before turning to Eugene. “Mr. Winters, please make sure our boss gets home safe, okay? She’s counting on you!”

With a bandage still wrapped around his forehead and cuts all along his hand and arm, Eugene managed a lopsided grin. “Don’t worry. I’ll get her home safe and sound.”

Sylvia smiled, but didn’t call him out.

At this point, it was hard to say who was really protecting whom.
