Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2430

Sophia felt a chill down her spine under Robin's intense gaze, a sense of guilt washing over her as she clutched her phone and headed for the door, her voice cold and detached, "What do you want?"

Robin said, "I need to see you, to talk about Diana. Will you listen?"

By now, Sophia had made her way to the living room, her tone icy, "I don't want to listen. There's nothing to talk about. You betrayed us. Nothing you say will make a difference now."

"Sophia, I want to talk to you face-to-face!" Robin insisted. "I'm right here, downstairs at your place!"

Sophia frowned, "I'm not home. Just go back, Robin. I don't want to talk."

"Come on, Sophia. You said you loved me for years. Won't you even give me one last chance to see you?" Robin's voice was heavy with sorrow.

Suddenly, a series of coughs echoed from the room.

Sophia glanced over and quickly said, "I have to go!"

Hanging up, she hurried back to the master bedroom and approached the bed, asking, "What's wrong?"

Jason stared at her blankly, "I feel terrible."

"Where does it hurt?" Sophia asked anxiously.

"My heart hurts," Jason said somberly.

Sophia was speechless.

She poured a glass of water for Jason, "Here, drink some hot water."

"When you were sick, I bought medicine, took care of you, cooked for you, and stayed up all night. And for me, it's just hot water?" Jason asked, frowning.

Caught off guard, Sophia stammered, "Then what do you suggest?"

Jason patted the spot next to him on the bed, "Come here, keep me company."

Jason clicked off the light and drew the curtains, plunging the room into darkness.

The faint light seeping in and the quiet room, along with the man's strong presence, made Sophia's heart race. She tried to breathe evenly, afraid to make a sound.

In the silence, Jason suddenly spoke, "Can't sleep?"

"No, I'm fine!" Sophia quickly responded, shifting slightly and adding, "It's just... switching beds suddenly, it feels a bit odd."

Jason snorted, "Since when do you have a thing about choosing beds? Remember when you were a kid and took over Nick's spot at my house?"

Nick was a dog Jason used to have, one that Sophia was very fond of.

Once, during a visit to the Gilders, Jason stepped out to make a call and lost track of Sophia. He eventually found her fast asleep in Nick's doghouse in the backyard, snug as a bug.

The year Sophia was in her senior year of high school, Nick passed away. She insisted on staying up all night for him, but Jason had to drag her back inside to sleep.
