Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2279

Panting heavily, she exclaimed, "Even exams don't get my heart racing like this!"

Jason reached over to zip up her jacket, chuckling, "I texted you the time, it's your own fault for not getting ready sooner."

"I saw your text too late!" Sophia complained.

Raising an eyebrow, Jason teased, "Rough night?"

"Nope, slept like a baby 'til dawn!" Sophia replied with a laugh.

Jason's expression softened, "Alright then, let's get going!"

He took off running, with Sophia quickly catching up, "How about we make it interesting and race?"

Jason smirked, "Don't embarrass yourself!"

Sophia tilted her head defiantly, "Ever heard of the Tortoise and the Hare?"

Jason scoffed, "You've got the turtle's speed and the rabbit's laziness!"

Sophia reached out to grab him, "You're the turtle, not me!"

With a disdainful glance back, Jason sprinted ahead, "Catch me if you can!"

"You just wait!"

Sophia, like a refreshing spring breeze, cleared the morning fog as she dashed towards him.

A neighbor noticed them running together and greeted with a smile, "Jason, Sophia, you two back in town?"

Sophia slowed down, smiling and waving, "Hey Vicky, Happy New Year!"

"Happy New Year, dear Sophia. Another year older, huh? Maybe it's time you and Jason thought about tying the knot. Just make sure to send an invite my way, I'd love to celebrate with you!" Vicky said with a beaming smile.

Jason remained silent.

After another hundred meters, Sophia sat on the edge of a flower bed, gasping for breath, "I can't do this, I have no energy left!"

"Already out of steam? And you wanted to race me?" Jason teased.

"My legs hurt, we walked so much shopping yesterday, and they were sore this morning!" Sophia pouted.

Jason walked over and knelt in front of her, gently lifting her legs by the ankles and supporting her calves with his strong hands, massaging the sore spots, "Is this where it hurts?"

Back in school, whenever Sophia had sore legs from running track, Jason was the one who'd massage them.

But now, perhaps because they were older, or because people kept hinting at something more between them, she felt a twinge of awkwardness. Glancing at his stern profile and broad shoulders, she instinctively pulled her legs back a bit.

"It's not too bad, it'll pass after a rest!"
