Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 2256

Sylvia's expression was neutral. "Not sure yet, I might spend New Year's in J City, or maybe I'll travel. Wherever I end up on New Year's Day, that's where I'll celebrate."

Her casual tone belied the emotion it stirred in Milanda's heart. "Boss, why don't you come spend New Year's with my family?"

Milanda had been working with Sylvia for two years. Although she didn't know the specifics of Sylvia's family situation, she knew that Sylvia was always alone during the holidays.

"Pity party for me?" Sylvia looked up, a teasing smile on her face.

"Of course not, I just thought it would be nice to have a lively New Year. My parents love having a full house. Back in college, I used to invite classmates who couldn't go home for the holidays."

Sylvia chuckled, "Thanks, but that's alright. New Year's is just another holiday for me, a good chance to take a break."

Milanda nodded reluctantly. "Alright then, you've been working hard all year. You deserve some rest."

As Sylvia's phone rang, Milanda took it as her cue to leave, gathering her things.

"Magdalen!" Sylvia greeted warmly into the phone.

"Busy?" Magdalen asked.

Leaning back, Sylvia replied with a relaxed air, "Not too bad. Things have slowed down since yesterday. What's up, need something?"

Magdalen laughed, "I'm heading to C City to meet a client. Come with me."

"C City?" Sylvia echoed thoughtfully.

"A very important client. I'm worried I might not handle it alone. I could use your support," Magdalen said with a chuckle.

Sylvia joked back, "A client you can't handle?"

"Yeah, one of those tough nuts to crack!" said Magdalen. "So, you in?"

"If Ms. Sampson is asking, how can I refuse? When do we leave?" Sylvia smiled.

"Tomorrow. It's almost New Year's, better to go and come back soon."

"Alright, send me the client details so I can prepare."

"No need for that. You'll do great just winging it!"

Seeing Old Wade always waiting for her had become a comforting routine for Estelle.

She hurried over, frowning slightly, "It's too cold for you to be waiting outside."

Old Wade's eyes were filled with warmth, "Waiting inside or out, it's all the same. Plus, when the master asks, I can let him know right away."

Acknowledging him, he then turned to Jonathan, "Mr. Lamont."

Jonathan responded with a gentle nod, "Old Mr. Wade!"

"Come on in. The master and young master Gabriel have been waiting quite a while!" Old Wade, hunching slightly, led the way inside.

Passing through the gate and around the front wall, they spotted Old Mr. Jarvis and Gabriel playing chess in the gazebo. Both stood up, with Gabriel speaking first as if heaving a sigh of relief, "Finally, you're back!"

Jonathan greeted, "Grandpa, big brother!"

Old Mr. Jarvis beamed, "Cold, isn't it? Let's go inside."
