Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 1818

The manager watched Carson and his companion walk away before turning and glaring at Cindy. "Are you out of your mind? Picking a fight with Mr. Foster's lady?"

Cindy sobbed, "I didn't! It's not my fault!"

The manager frowned, "Even if it's a misunderstanding, you just have to suck it up. You can't clash with a guest, remember the hotel's rules? Go back and redo your training, and consider your bonus for this month gone."

Cindy's tears flowed even more as she cursed the world for its unfairness, her resentment towards Marina growing.

Why did Marina have to be so lucky? Born into a wealthy family and even engaged to someone like Carson, who was as rich as he was handsome?

She had overheard in the private room that Carson and Marina were calling off their engagement, and Cindy had thought that Carson would despise Marina. But it turned out he was still protecting her!

Carson returned to the private room with Marina and after a few steps, heard her hiss in pain. He looked down to see several scratches on the back of her hand.

It must have happened during the scuffle with Cindy, who had managed to claw her in the struggle.

Carson's brow furrowed, "Next time you decide to hit someone, make sure you protect yourself."

Marina pulled her hand away, rotating her wrist, "It's nothing!"

Seeing that her hair was also a mess from Cindy's grabbing, Carson decided not to head back but instead went to another private room and asked a waiter to bring some antiseptic.

They sat down on the couch, and Carson took Marina's hand, cleaning the wounds with antiseptic.

She flinched, "It's just a scratch, no need for that!"

But Carson held her wrist firmly, smiling faintly, "Better disinfect it, don't want you getting rabies or something."

Rabies?

Marina caught the implication that Carson was calling Cindy a mad dog and couldn't help but want to laugh, turning her head slightly to hide her amusement.

Soon after, Carson finished applying the ointment and packed it away, suggesting, "Do you want to fix your hair?"

Marina was straightforward. Without heading to the restroom, she let her hair down, ran her fingers through it to untangle the knots, and casually tied it up again.

Carson noticed she did it without any fuss, which meant she really wasn't into him at all.

He raised an eyebrow, feeling a twinge of defeat.

No taste at all, she wasn't even attracted to him.

He asked Marina, "Still want to call off the engagement?"

Marina paused. She had been set on calling it off, but after the incident with Cindy, she hesitated. Cindy was a repeat offender, and she would undoubtedly continue to pester Carson. If Marina backed out now, wouldn't she just be giving Cindy what she wanted?

Marina gritted her teeth in frustration, not willing to give in so easily.
