Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 1773

Chapter 1773

Emily's hand tightened on Charlie's shirt as she thought about the words she had previously uttered, a blush of embarrassment flashing across her face.

Charlie, noticing the blush on her cheeks, felt his heart flutter. He grabbed her chin and planted a deep kiss on her lips.

Emily's long eyelashes trembled as her breath was stolen away by this unexpected intimacy. The manly scent of Charlie filled her nostrils, and all her discomfort, fear, and hesitation were suppressed by his dominant presence.

Once Emily was left weak and breathless from the kiss, Charlie scooped her into his arms and headed for the master bedroom. His enthusiasm for the kiss seemed to hint at an underlying impatience.

Suddenly, Charlie's phone rang. Emily's eyes snapped open at the sound, her hand clenching on his arm as she struggled, "Your phone."

"Ignore it.” Charlie placed Emily on the bed, bending over her, his breath heavy and hurried.

The ringing of his phone was equally urgent.

Emily pulled the phone from his pocket and glanced at the screen. Her heart sank slightly. She pushed Charlie away, "It's your mom. Answer it."

Charlie stopped, took a deep breath, picked up the phone and stepped off the bed to answer, "Mom."

Mrs. James asked, “Charlie, have you finished your work yet? Hurry home."

"Why?" Charlie asked, furrowing his brows.

"Come home and we'll talk. I'm waiting for you." Mrs. James hung up after saying this.

He turned to Emily, "Come home with me."

Emily, now calm, shook her head, “Before our last breakup, your mom had a talk with me."

"She did? What did she say?" Charlie instinctively felt that his mom talking to Emily might not be a good thing.

Charlie nodded, “I understand your concerns, and I'll take care of them."

Emily said, “Your mom must have urgently needed to talk to you. I don't know if it has anything to do with Kya. If any emergency happens to Kya, you must let me know."

"Don't go, stay here.” Charlie whispered, "I'll comfort Kya and be right back."

Emily refused, "Let's both calm down for a couple of days. Give me some time."

Charlie looked at her, helpless but indulgent, “Alright, I won't disturb you for two days. Take your time to think things over."

Emily nodded, "Thank you."

Charlie drove Emily back to Sunset Ridge before heading home.
