Chapter 1755

"Cedric was looking for you earlier!” Edwina remarked.

Snapping out of her daze, Emily responded, "I got it!"

She glanced at the designs made for the James Building on the table. Moments later, she picked them up and made her way to Cedric's office.

Upon entering Cedric’s office, she found him looking up at her, silent.

Emily slowly approached and gently said, "This is the internal design I made for the first floor of the James Building. Have a look, and if everything is alright, I'll continue with the second draft."

Cedric got stunned, a look of delight spreading across his face, "So you've thought it through? You're not resigning anymore?"

Emily's cheeks flushed slightly, her smile a mixture of relief and relaxation. She nodded slowly, "I won't resign. I want to stay here and I take back what I said earlier."

"That's more like it!" Cedric replied with a warm smile, "Keep up the qood work. You'll surely outshine me one day!"

Emily, her eyes bright and two faint dimples playing on her cheeks, said, "I'll do my best!"

After leaving Cedric's office, Emily called Wilson, informing him of her decision to stay at the firm and not join his team.

Although disappointed, Wilson responded graciously, "Regardless, I respect your decision. Even if we're not work partners, we're still friends. Let's keep in touch."

"Sure!"

Emily felt a sense of relief after the call, as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

Estelle always said never to give up, even in dire situations. Emily wasn't in one; maybe she could hang in there a bit longer!

Sensing Charlie's feigned calmness, Gavin decided to play along, "It was about that designer she recommended."

Charlie's face hardened halfway through Gavin's sentence. Was she still planning to resign and recommended another designer to him?

Gavin continued, "She felt it wasn't a goad fit, so she decided not to resign. She plans to stay and complete the design for our building."

Charlie paused, quickly signed the documents and threw them back to Gavin. His thin lips moved, “Get out!"

Grinning cheekily, Gavin picked up the documents, let out a meaningful sigh and said, "Emily is stubborn. You're indeed impressive. You managed to change Emily's mind!"

With that, he stepped out of the office, ready to call it a day.

Charlie returned to the documents he was reviewing earlier, while his thoughts were wandering, a gentle warmth spreading across his features, his lips curling into a smile unconsciously.
