Chapter 1725

“Look, if I catch you drinking again, I'll catch you back myself!"

The man waited for a response. Hearing none, he finally turned to leave.

Inside, Magdalen sat against the door on the carpet. As she heard the front door close, the tears she had been holding back finally fell.

She looked up at the ceiling, tears streaming down her face.

On Saturday morning, Estelle went to tutor Henson. During their break, Henson said, "We have a parent-teacher Meeting on Monday afternoon. My parents are out of town. Can you go?"

Estelle looked at him and asked, "What kind of meeting?"

Henson calmly explained, "Citywide Math Olympiad. I got first place. The teacher wants to hold a ceremony and encourage the other students."

Estelle’s eyes widened. “First place? Top or bottom?"

Henson glared at her. “Are you doubting yourself or doubting me?"

Estelle chuckled, "Congratulations! I heard those Math Olympiad questions are pretty hard!"

Henson shrugged, "They're okay,’ he asked Estelle, "So are you going or not?"

Estelle quickly replied, “No, let Jonathan go!"

"Why?" Henson frowned.

Seeing that his threats and bribes weren't working, Henson started to plead, “Estelle, just go this once. It's a good thing. Some people would kill for this opportunity!"

"Estelle?"

“Estelle!"

Estelle felt her heart flutter with each call of her name. She thought for a moment, "Okay, I'll convince Jonathan to go."

"Do you think you can persuade him?" Henson looked doubtful.

Estelle smiled uncertainly, “I can try"
