Chapter 1717
But today, Beck felt wronged; he hadn't asked Susie out!
His wife didn't even listen to his explanation. Seeing him lying bare in bed, she called in reinforcements and beat both of them up again!
Beck had just been beaten, and now he was getting another one!
Across the way, Magdalen stepped out of her door. Hearing the pitiful cries and pleas of aman from the room across, she almost burst out laughing.
Estelle chuckled, "Stop eavesdropping. Let's go."
Magdalen wrapped an arm around Emily's shoulders as they walked out. "What a satisfying day. I haven't had this much fun in a while!"
Emily laughed, "I'll treat you guys to dinner. What do you want to eat?"
Magdalen replied with a grin, "I'm in the mood for a barbecue!"
Estelle raised an eyebrow and asked, ‘Do you want the chef at 9th Mansion to grill for you?"
"No need today, any barbecue restaurant will do. Outdoor ones! Those are the best. I'm in such a good mood.
Anything will taste great!" Magdalen flirtatiously suggested, “Let's just go right from the hotel until we find a place."
“Sounds good!"
“Let's settle on that then!"
Estelle and Emily agreed enthusiastically.
Half an hour later, the three of them were sitting in a barbecue restaurant, next to a small bridge and stream, listening to local tunes from J City, and enjoying some good old-fashioned grub!
Magdalen was peeling a lobster and asked Emily, "Won't your boss fire you for crossing Beck? If so, Ella and I can stand up for you at your company tomorrow."
Emily shook her head. “It’s okay. I was prepared to resign when Ron asked me to accompany Beck."
Magdalen suggested, “How about I fund a studio, and you can be the chief designer? With your talent, I'm sure the studio will be a success!"
Looked like she didn't learn her lesson!
Seeing Jonathan, she tilted her head and gave a pure, childlike smile that left him speechless.
Jonathan held Estelle in his arms and said to the man behind him, "I've asked Millard to take Magdalen home.
You take Emily."
Estelle tried to stand straight, waving casually at Charlie, "Hey, Charlie!"
"Stop acting tough. Go home with Jonathan. I'll settle the bill? Charlie smiled cordially.
“Thanks, Charlie!" Estelle chuckled, pushing Jonathan away, walking out on her own. Jonathan quickly followed.
Millard helped Magdalen into the car, leaving Emily still sprawled on the table.
She was resting her head on her arms, her rosy cheeks soft and adorable from the alcohol. From this angle, she looked a lot like Kya.
