Chapter 1699
Estelle was gazing downward, her peachy, delicate fingers traced the patterns on the wooden table. In a gentle whisper, she asked, "Are you in a meeting?"
"No, what's up?" Jonathan responded quietly.
“Nothing, I just miss you,’ Estelle’s voice softened even further. “Can I come pick you up from work?"
Jonathan paused for a moment before letting out a chuckle. "You're making me feel a bit spoiled."
Estelle’s lips twitched into a smile. "Then prepare to be spoiled."
“Alright.” Jonathan's voice was deep and magnetic.
"Then get back to work, I'll be there soon."
“Can't wait."
“Mm.
Estelle put down her phone, not wasting any more time, she immediately got up to change her clothes, preparing to meet him.
After Antonia's public apology was issued, Cliff's men found her in a hotel room.
Antonia had been beaten up by Magdalen that night, then taken away by Millard. For two days, she had been locked in a pitch-black roam, with no one to tend to her wounds or bring her food or water. The darkness had made it impossible for her to differentiate between day and night!
Her mental defenses completely crumbled in these two days and nights. She was on the verge of going insane.
When Cliffs men found her, she was lying on the bed, disheveled with a sallow complexion, her clothes soiled with her own waste.
Seeing his once radiant daughter reduced to such a state, Cliff gritted his teeth in anger. Yet he dared not confront Jonathan nor trouble Estelle. He could only swallow his anger and rush back to B City.
“Just a sec." Estelle finished her last stroke, packed up her drafts and pen, looked up at him and grinned, "I miss Courtney's bunny. Let's go to Yum Yum Bakery."
“Are you missing the bunny, or Courtney's homemade tea?" Jonathan teased, gently pinching her nose. His eyes were full of affection, “Let's go!"
Estelle picked up her things, and walked side by side with him towards the exit. As Jonathan was opening the door, Estelle suddenly reached up and hooked her arm through his.
Jonathan paused and looked at Estelle.
Estelle raised her eyebrows, "What's up? Let's go!"
Jonathan's eyes sparkled, the corners of his lips tilted upward subconsciously, and he stepped out.
"Mr. Lamont!" Sabina came over, greeting him respectfully. When she saw Estelle’s arm linked through Jonathan's, she paused, and quickly turned her gaze towards Estelle.
