chapter 33
Violet’s POV
I almost burst out laughing. No, this was ridiculous. She was
obviously implying that Asher was the father of his child. But how was this possible? Asher would never allow her to have his
baby. I trust him.
I turned back to my brothers. They were all looking at me, a
strange look on their faces. Now I was starting to recognize that
strange look–it was called as the “sympathy.”
“Do you believe what she said?” I asked them.
“I am standing right here. There is no need for you to ask them. Or are you afraid of facing the truth?” Kylie taunted.
“Because I don’t trust you. I have had enough of your lies and
schemes!” I said trembling.
This was such an old trick of her–making up a lie and let us
believe that she was the victim. She lied about losing her mate for 7 years and used our sympathy to steal Asher from me. And the truth? She rejected her mate willingly. All of us were just
pawns in her hand, manipulated by her lies.
chapter 33
I would not believe a single word that she said from now on. I
had learnt my lesson.
Kylie burst out laughing, her voice lacing with sarcasm, “Running from the truth does you no good Violet. Asher and I
have a past together. That’s something even you can’t deny. So
what you two are mates? And I was his wife for 7 years! Even
your matebond can’t erase those seven years!”
“No…Stop!” I gritted, glaring at her. “Asher doesn’t love you! He
would never…”
Yet she advanced on me, a cold sneer tugging at her lips, “He
would never what? Sleep with me? Let me have his child? But
how much do you know him really? You have no idea what
happened during our marriage, how Asher treated me when I
was his wife. Don’t jump into conclusion, stupid sister.”
I glared at her, my chest rising and falling rapidly in anger.
Angry as I was, I still didn’t believe her bullshit.
She was trying to mess with my head again. This was what she
always did–driving people apart with her lies. If I let her drive a
wedge between me and Asher, that would be just what she had
wanted.
“You keep claiming that he has feelings for you, but he still
rejected you. Actions speak louder than word,” I said coldly.
A quick flash of resentment past Kylie’s eyes. She turned to my
3 brothers and demanded, “How long are you going to hide this from her? It is about time she wakes up to the truth!”
They all looked glum. Then Jayden broke the silence and said, “Well…it is truth. Kylie is indeed pregnant.”
I froze as a cold chill ran through me, “Are you sure?”
“Yes. The pack doctor confirmed 2 heartbeats within her. There
is no mistake there.”
“…And you all know about this?” I asked with difficulty, looking
across their faces. “For how long?”
“A while, actually.” Jayden said with a sigh, “We didn’t say
anything because this child might not even be Asher’s. Don’t let
this affect what you have with Asher right now.”
They didn’t say anything to me. I got it. They didn’t want to ruin
my happiness based on some rumors. But I still wished
somebody could at least give me a hint so that I didn’t look like
such a huge idiot when Kylie exposed everything.
My chest hurt. The peaceful and uneventful life that I was
currently living just came to an abrupt stop because of this child.
that Kylie was carrying. Did Asher already know about this?
Kylie must have talked to him. When? Why didn’t he say

anything? Did he think the child was his as well?
As though seeing through what was going on in my head, Kylie
let out a smirk, “Asher is thrilled about this baby. He has been
dreaming about a kid of his own for a very long time. You know
how much he loves kids. I’m telling you. He can’t wait for me to
give birth and name this child his heir.”
I wanted to cover my ears so that I didn’t have to listen to those
cruel words anymore.
“And you wonder why he haven’t told you anything?” Kylie
giggled, “That’s because he is looking for a perfect timing to
dump you. He is afraid of you losing your mind and hurt me
