Chapter 24
Asher’s POV
The seer’s words left me rattled.
Was it because of me that Violet hadn’t gotten her wolf back?
But what she said about my feeling being nothing more than
obsession was bullshit. I wouldn’t let anyone question my love
for Violet, not even the seer. I knew how much I loved my mate.
So I told the seer that I would think about this and sent her away.
Right now, I had a more urgent task at hand: Tonight I was
meeting with the mysterious man in the forest.
That person demanded Violet. But I couldn’t let Violet go since
that man was most likely the rogue king. He could circle around
the patrolling troops and left that message in Violet’s room,
which proved that he was strong and dangerous.
I wouldn’t let Violet face him alone. So I decided to go in Violet’s
place.
I mind linked Jayden telling him that he was in charge if
anything happened to me. Then I shifted into my wolf, dashing to
the forest that we first met.
On my way, I kept playing his message in my head.
He threatened to start a war if none of she didn’t show up. That
part was understandable because he was our enemy. I knew the
rouges had been longing to go to war with us.
But why Violet and not me? I was the Alpha of Silver Moon Pack.
If he wanted to provoke someone or even talked about a truce, he
should go after me and anyone else.
Maybe he knew Violet was my weak soft and was trying to hurt
her to get to me. That sneaky bastard.
I could only hope that this would be a fight between two Alpha
warriors instead of a trap.
My soldiers had surrounded this forest. When I got there, one of
the soldiers mind linked me saying that there was a suspicious
figure at the west side of the forest.
Without hesitation, I ran to the west.
The forest was dark like the first time I came here with leaves
rustling in the wind. I traveled through the woods with my guard
up, looking out for any possible surprise attack.
Then I heard a low howl coming from the distance. It asked me to
shift back to human.
Was he trying to ambush me in my human form? I didn’t know.
After a little hesitation, I shifted back and put on the clothes that I
hid nearby.
I wasn’t afraid of this man. Even in my human form, I would still
beat this son of a bitch.
“Alright?” I cried to the darkness, “Now are you ready to come
out?”
Heavy footsteps approached. Then a tall figure appeared
between the woods. He kept a safe distance from me, still
standing in the shadow, so I couldn’t see his face clearly.
“My name is Isaac,” he said in a slightly hoarse voice.
Fury flared up in me the second he showed up.
“Nobody gave a fuck about your name!” I arched my back, my
wolf ready to come out. “Get ready to fucking die!”
He snorted, “I want to see your mate. Not you.”
How dare he ask for Violet?! This man was the murder who
killed Patrick and Elena, and now he was trying to get to Violet!
Anger, sorrow, and jealousy clouded my mind as I let out a
way.”
