Asher’s POV
The council chamber was dead silent. Eyes widened, hands
clenched into fists. Exactly the reaction I wanted.
I turned to others, my voice unwavering. “From this moment
forward, anyone who questions Violet’s place as Queen or
spreads rumors about the curse will have their heart ripped
out. Their entire family will be exiled.”
A few Alphas inhaled sharply, their fear palpable. Philip
stepped forward without hesitation, “You heard your Alpha.
Consider this your only warning.”
Silence stretched across the room. No one dared to defy me
now. The weight of my words settled over them like a thick fog,
suffocating any foolish thoughts they might have had.
Just then, an applause arose.
The sound echoed through the room. My gaze snapped toward
the source of sound.
Chapter 193
Xavier.
:
I hadn’t seen him in a long time, but there he was, leaning
casually against the wall, a smirk playing on his lips.
“Now, that’s the Alpha King I remember,” he drawled, his sharp
eyes sweeping over the room. “You all should be grateful. If it
weren’t for Violet’s influence, Asher wouldn’t have been this
merciful. He would have killed every single one of you who
dared plot against him.”
His words sent another wave of unease through the Alphas.
The discussion shifted after that, moving to general pack
matters–territory disputes, rogue sightings, and resource
management. It was routine, but the tension from earlier still
lingered, making every exchange feel forced and cautious.
The meeting ended soon after. The Alphas quickly filed out,
most too afraid to even glance in my direction.
I quickly pulled Xavier aside.
“Where the hell were you?”
“Away!” Xavier smirked slightly.
Chapter 193
I narrowed my eyes. “Away?”
“Had some things to deal with. Thought some distance would
be good after everything that happened.” He shrugged. “But
then I heard about Violet and I returned as soon as possible.”
I exhaled. “She’s not well.”
“I figured.” His gaze sharpened. His smirk faded slightly as he
took me in. “You don’t look great yourself!”
“I don’t need your commentary, Xavier.”
“You lost a lot of blood, didn’t you?” Xavier asked, after looking
at me with concern.
I didn’t answer, but that was enough of an answer.
Xavier sighed, shaking his head. “Don’t worry. I have heard
about a remedy which might help Violet.””
“What do you mean?” I frowned.
His expression turned serious. “There’s a legend. About ancient
vampire curses.”
My breath hitched. “Go on.”
Chapter 193
“Every curse tied to vampires has a counter,” he explained.
“Silvermoon Grass. It’s a rare plant, said to grow only within the
Bear Clan’s territory. If the legend is true, it could undo the
blood curse.”
Hope.
It had been so long since I felt it that I barely recognized the
feeling.
“Do you believe it?” I asked.
Xavier shrugged. “I believe it’s worth looking into. You don’t
have many options left, do you?”
He was right.
I wasted no time. I turned to Gamma Simon.
“Get in touch with Jason. Arrange a meeting with the Bear Clan
as soon as possible.”
Simon nodded without hesitation. “I’ll make it happen, Alpha.”
For the first time in a long time, I felt a glimmer of hope.
Xavier’s return and his tip about the Silvermoon Grass–if true-
