Simon hesitated before nodding and stepping away, Violet and I

shared a look, knowing this wouldn’t be the last time someone

demanded our attention.

“Did she bring Mia?” Violet asked, already standing up.

I sighed again. “Yeah, but she’s asleep.”

She relaxed a little at that, but I could see the anticipation in her

eyes. “I hope this isn’t about some new crisis,” she muttered.

“We’ll find out soon enough.” I reached for her hand, lacing our

fingers together. “Let’s go.”

Simon watched us for a moment before walking ahead, leading

the way. As we followed, I stole a glance at Violet. There was

something different about her lately. A quiet strength. A

resilience I hadn’t appreciated enough before.

“I love you,” I said suddenly.

She glanced up, surprised, before a soft smile graced her lips. “I

know“”

“No, I mean it. I don’t think I could survive any of this without

you.”

She squeezed my hand. “You won’t have to. If you want to

make up to me, just remember that holiday you promised.”

I’d give her my everything. Now that we had finally survived

our biggest crisis, we could finally enjoy our love in peace.

“Let’s check on Renee, and then we can do whatever you want,”

I told Violet. “I know this has been hard on her too.”

She nodded, but her arms tightened around mine. “I just hope

she’s okay. It must be hard for her to live in an unfamiliar place

surrounded by strange people. I’m dying to see her. None of this

would mean anything if something ever happened to her.”

I kissed the top of her head, silently vowing that nothing ever

would.

The tension in the air thickened as we approached the

packhouse. The pack had suffered losses, but this wasn’t

something that shook them to their core. Kylie and Isaac had

been threats to all of us, and now, they were gone.

As we entered the packhouse, the Royal Court was waiting.

Alpha Charlotte sat calmly, but I knew she wouldn’t have

“This is a pleasant surprise,” I greeted as we took our seats.

She studied me carefully before speaking. “King Asher, I owe

you a favor for what you’ve done for Mia. But I need to ask

something in return.”

I frowned. “What is it?”

To my surprise, Michael was still there, as was the jury. He

should have been sentenced and yet he was here, safe and

sound. I turned to Charlotte, feeling the first stirrings of unease.

“I thought I gave my order to take care of this,” I said, my voice

hard.

She met my gaze without flinching. “I stopped it.”

Violet straightened beside me. “And what gives you the right to

do that?”

Charlotte remained composed. “Because I have an offer.

Destroy the Celestine flower in my pack, and you’ll never have

to worry about another problem like this again. In exchange…

you let me take my son.”

Asher’s reaction was immediate. His eyes narrowed, his jaw

clenched, and his voice was laced with disbelief. “You have got

to be joking.” He snapped, sounding utterly betrayed.
