Fated For Lycan's Luna novel Chapter 193

Blake

The entire barracks went silent momentarily, but the sound of cheers came right after.

To the members of the alliance, the presence of one leader will empower them as they go on a dangerous mission.

Idris was calm but his eyes looked at me with appreciation. However, Caleb still had a frozen look on his face.

As for me, his attitude isn't something I mind, unless provokes me by making a move on Chloe.

As for his loyalty, I know that he wouldn't betray the alliance so I left it like that.

Having announced my decision I left the briefing on Caleb and Idris, letting them know that while I said that I will join the expedition, it will not cause a change on the plans the two have already set.

"Tonight, we will set off to the target alliance that we have on our list…" It was Caleb who did the honors in introducing the target to everyone.

"...Living on the far west from the Blood Hound Pack, the Rain Valley Pack is the last pack that we have to take on for the second phase of our plan"

"After taking them out, we will start preparing to take on the major packs allied to our Archenemy, the Blood Hound Pack."

Then it was Idris's turn to takeover as he continued Caleb's explanation,

"With that we shall do our best to come back without casualties as the next battle after this will be more crucial. When you can protect your comrades the best way you can. Survive, by all means! Everyone of us is needed so that we will have a higher chance to succeed in the next battles ahead!"

The barracks roared in a battle cry as they answered in acknowledgement.

Their weapons were sharpened. Their clothes were ready. All of their provisions were already packed and everyone was already aware of their positions and assignments.

With everything ready we headed off to go westward and wait there until the right opportunity to attack comes.

I looked back at the hideout and paused. Unable to say goodbye to Chloe, I clenched my fist and promised myself to come back safe and sound so she won't worry.

Even with our full speed, traveling in a large group is quite a challenge. Especially when we wanted to go unnoticed until the set time to attack had arrived.

That is also why Caleb and Idris's teams had to merge just to carry out this mission, for it is a challenging one.

Even so, if this mission failed then it will be harder to even attempt to subdue Alpha Kain's men at this point.

After ensuring that everything is normal and within expectations, I came back to the group and told them what I saw.

I asked them one last time if everyone was fully aware that they have to fight without relying on the aid of the airborne poison. Though they acknowledged by saying yes, my heart sank when I saw the hesitant look on their faces.

It seems that we have overlooked a fatal point during the joint training and failed to instill to the warriors that they cannot always rely on mass poisoning to gain advantage.

"What does the somber look on your face mean?" With a frown I looked at the warriors and said with a heavy tone.

"While I do not blame those from the Red Moon Pack as their style of fighting incorporates usage of poison, why do the warriors under me also lack confidence? This can't be! Have you forgotten how the Frost Fang Pack used to fight?"

"I'll give you an hour to adjust to your mentality and prepare well! We cannot afford deaths just because you let your guards down!"
