Falling For My Mysterious Wife by Cassidy Alfaro novel Chapter 124

Chapter 124

“In that case, shall we have dinner together tonight?” Jaydon invited Elaina again. Though she turned him down the first time, he figured that the same thing wouldn’t happen again.

Sure enough, Elaina smiled and nodded, “Sure.”

She thought, I’m looking forward to seeing what you’re up to!

After Jaydon and Elaina agreed on the time and place to eat, Jaydon left the office and went to the ward to take care of Zayden.

After he left, the smile on Elaina’s face completely disappeared.

She picked up her phone and dialed a number. She said, “Andrew, I need you to look into someone.

“Jaydon Becker, from the Becker family in Boston.”

Jaydon walked into the VIP ward without a smile on his face.

“You’re here.” Zayden leaned against the head of the bed, closed the file in his hand, and looked up at Jaydon.

Seeing Jaydon’s serious face, Zayden asked, “What’s wrong? Did something happen at home?”

“No.” Jaydon shook his head and walked to Zayden.

“I just asked Elaina out for dinner,” he said.

Zayden was surprised and then asked, “Did she agree?”

Jaydon nodded. His indifference surprised Zayden. “You don’t look very happy.”

“She is smarter than I thought. She knew at once I was lying when I said I had feelings for her.” Jaydon was helpless. It was the first time he had met such a smart woman.

Zayden seemed very calm. He said, “Isn’t it good to be smart? Nowadays, those who aren’t smart are always bullied.”

Jaydon looked at Zayden and could not help but ask, “So, why do you want me to get on with her in the first place?”

By the time Elaina made ward rounds and came to Zayden’s ward, Zayden and Jaydon had already finished their conversation. Zayden looked at Elaina kindly. “Ella, with those great medical skills of yours, staying in New York would be such a waste of your talent. Have you considered going to Boston?”

“Mr. Becker, thanks. That’s very kind of you. But I think New York is great. I have no intention of leaving for the moment,” she replied.

Zayden became a bit disappointed when hearing her words. Yet he didn’t insist. “Alright. If you ever change your mind, just tell Jaydon. He will make arrangements for you. I promise you won’t regret it.”

Elaina looked at Jaydon, who nodded. She smiled, “Sure. I will contact Mr. Becker if anything.”

“OK.” Zayden did not say anything else. He narrowed his eyes as if he was lost in his memories.

He thought, Elaina always reminds me of an old acquaintance.

However, he has already passed away. Also, I looked Elaina up before. She grew up in a small village near New York, and their lives never crossed paths.

Perhaps I’m overthinking it.
