Falling For My Ex's Dad (Clarissa and Gabriel) novel Chapter 250

Gabriel’s POV

Goddammit!

I stood instantly. “How the hell did you get in here?”

She opened her mouth to speak, but I shut her down with a firm gesture and jabbed the intercom. I was two seconds away from going off on Tems.

A surge of anger raced through my veins.

Then Angelique stepped forward, hands raised in that soft, manipulative way she always used when she wanted something.

“Gabriel, wait, don’t blame your assistant,” she said quickly. “It’s not her fault. I told her it was a surprise visit from your wife. She was caught off guard… but I convinced her.”

My jaw tightened. “Why the hell would you do that? You know damn well we haven’t been married in years. We don’t talk, we don’t have a relationship—nothing. The only thing left between us is a son who’s already grown.”

She took another step toward my desk. “I know, and that's why I had to see you. We needed to talk. You’re never home these days, and this was the only way…”

I gave a bitter laugh. “We have nothing to talk about. I assure you. So please… leave.”

“Gabriel, please…” Her voice softened. “Just five minutes. I promise. That’s all I need.”

I sighed, furious, but I knew she wouldn’t leave unless she said whatever speech she had prepared. I didn’t offer her a seat. She took it anyway, settling down like she had any right to be here.

I leaned forward, arms on the table, staring at her with fire in my eyes.

She dropped the pitiful look. “Gabriel… it’s been years, and you’re still so mad at me,” she said with a faint, practiced pout. “I’ve apologized. I’ve tried to make things right. What would it take to earn your forgiveness?”

I narrowed my eyes at her classic guilt-trip strategy.

“I’m not going to lie, Angelique,” I muttered, my voice low and tight. “Yeah… a part of me is still mad at you. But you’re right, it’s been years. And honestly? I’m done with you.”

Her face twitched. “Gabriel. Are you really?” she asked, rising slowly, walking toward me like she was in some goddamn movie. “Over us?”

My face hardened. “Yes, Angelique. I am. Over whatever we shared.”

“I don’t believe you,” she whispered. “You’re still upset. I was your first love, and you were mine. We have a son together. You haven’t been able to get married after all these years. Surely it’s because you still feel something for me, even if you refuse to admit it.”

I stared at her, disbelief twisting through my chest.

“The reason I haven’t gotten remarried all these years has absolutely nothing to do with you. And who knows… maybe that’ll change soon. So you should really move on, because I have.”

“I’ve tried,” she breathed, searching my face. “But no man compares to you. Please…”

Her hand reached out and touched mine. I let her, for a second.

“What happened between Daniel and me…”

“Angelique,” I cut her off, yanking my hand free. “I don’t want to hear it. It’s in the past. Let it stay there.”

“I wish it was… but it clearly isn’t…” Her voice cracked as tears slipped down her cheeks.

“You don’t know how many nights I stayed awake… crying. Gabriel, I regret cheating on you and tearing us apart. But please believe me when I say, what happened between me and Daniel… It was a mistake. And I didn’t do it just to hurt you. I did it to help you.”

I stilled, and for a second, I couldn’t believe the audacity, and sheer manipulative ability to twist the situation around.

She swallowed hard, her voice heavy with emotion. “Years ago, I met Daniel at an art event. I told him about you, how brilliant your ideas were. He promised he’d give you the capital to start Storm Innovations and whatever else you needed.”

Her eyes dropped. “But there was a condition. He wanted to sleep with me.”

“I didn’t want to. I swear I didn’t. But I thought… maybe I could help you. I thought if I gave him what he wanted, he’d keep his promise. So yes, I offered myself. I offered my body.”

I snapped, disgusted. “You know I would never have asked you to do that. Never.”

She looked at me, pleading. “I know. That’s why I didn’t tell you. And look at you now, you have this big company, everything you ever dreamed of. I wasn’t wrong to take a chance on you.”

“You did it for us?” My voice rose, fury cutting through every word. “That’s your grand confession? That you gave yourself to him for me?”

I let out a bitter breath, gesturing broadly. “You think this, any of this, was built on your little bargain with Daniel? You think he gave me the means to create Storm Innovations?”
