Falling For My Ex's Dad (Clarissa and Gabriel) novel Chapter 245

Gabriel’s POV

Clairessa’s reply came in too fast.

Clairessa: Gabriel! …we can't yet, that’d be too suspicious.

Gabriel: I don’t care. No one touches what’s mine. Not even my son. I need him away from you before I lose it.

Clairessa: Relax, Mr. Possessive. He can’t do anything here. But… it’s kinda hot when you’re like this.

Gabriel: I’m one step away from announcing to this damn table that you’re my woman.

Clairessa: Not yet. Not with your ex-wife two seats away playing mind games. I don’t want you to lose Adrian over me.

I read her message and exhaled slowly. She was right, as always. I needed to cool down.

Still, I caught the way Angelique’s gaze moved between us. She knew something was up.

“Clairessa,” she asked. “Is that work?”

“You caught me,” Clairessa replied with a small smile. “Apologies. Just wrapping some unfinished work up.”

“Seems Gabriel is too,” Angelique added with a tilt of her head. “You both must work closely.”

I didn’t bother looking at her. “Stay out of my business.”

“I meant no harm,” she said softly, but her eyes sparkled with mischief.

Then, as if to infuriate me even further, she turned to Adrian and Clairessa again. “You two look so good together. I’ve been dying to hear more about your relationship. When did you first know you were in love?”

Adrian lit up like a kid handed his favorite toy. “Honestly? I think I fell the moment I saw her. She was this shy, stubborn, beautiful girl. I knew I had to have her.”

Clairessa gave a fake smile I knew all too well. “That’s… sweet.”

Angelique leaned forward, still watching them with interest. “And your first kiss? Was it spontaneous or planned?”

Adrian answered quickly, like he’d rehearsed it. “It was after months of chasing her. I thought I’d never get a chance.”

“Wow,” Angelique gasped. “I would’ve thought after the first date.”

Adrian chuckled. “My Claire has always been reserved… and gentle.” Then he added with pride, “When we were dating, we agreed to wait until marriage before having sex.”

Angelique gasped again. “That’s so old-fashioned. But I love it.”

Adrian nodded proudly. “I thought so too. But Clairessa’s a virgin. And when you love a woman as much as I love her, you’d do anything for her.”

Clairessa’s expression shifted. Her shoulders tensed as she winced. “I don’t think this is the right place to talk about something so personal.”

“Oh, come on,” he chuckled, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. “It’s just my mom and dad. I want them to know you’re a good, decent girl.”

My jaw tightened.

“Adrian,” I said coolly, trying to keep from lashing out, “a man never defines a woman’s worth by her sexual history or lack of it.”

“Dad…?”

“Shut up,” I cut him off. “Especially not when you weren’t a virgin when you met her.”

The table fell silent.

Angelique chimed in, ever ready to stir the pot. “Gabriel, please. Adrian’s a man. It’s understandable he has experience. At least Clairessa knows her first time will be with someone well-schooled. Isn’t that right?”

She turned to Clairessa with a sugary smile.

Clairessa frowned, clearly offended. “Gabriel is right. A woman’s value isn’t up for discussion. And I don’t like talking about intimate matters that were discussed in private in the open.”

Angelique gasped lightly. “Oh, my apologies, darling. It’s just… You both just remind me so much of Gabriel and me when we were younger. Our first time… we were both naive virgins…”

“Mom!” Adrian groaned, face twisting. “TMI! I really don’t want to hear about you and Dad getting it on!”

Angelique giggled. “Don’t act innocent. That’s exactly how you were made.”
