I shake away the awful memory as I follow Alexander up the stairs and into his study. His was much different from mine. Where mine is more modern his is more old fashioned.
He takes a seat behind the grand oak desk and picks up the phone and begins to dial a few numbers that he read off of a piece of paper. He paused for a moment before clearing his throat.
"Alpha Octavius, hello. It's Alexander, we spoke about Siren not too long ago." He pauses and listens to what he was saying on the other end.
I could feel my palms become clammy with sweat. I would have to speak to him in a proper manner when all I wanted to do was yell at him. He turned me away. He knew what my father and Jalex had done and I reached out to him for help, but he refused. He didn't want to cause any trouble. He feared my father and Jalex's, it was very clear to me that night.
If only he knew that I planned on ending their lives...
"Ajax would like to speak to you about-" Alexander is cut off and pulls the phone away from his ear and sighs. He gives me a tired look and with the roll of his eyes he brings the phone back to his ear. "Octavius it is about your daughter, so I suggest you shut your mouth and listen to what he has to say."
There was a short silence before he hands the phone over to me. I take in a deep breath before pressing it to my ear. "Alpha Octavius," I greet him and he wastes no time before he flat out insults me.
"You stupid bastard. You've got a lot of nerve calling me. Where's my daughter? Did you already get her killed?"
His voice was sharp and cold. I grip the edge of Alexander's desk in anger. "Get her killed? I protect your daughter with my life and I always will."
"That's my little girl and you took her away from me like a monster. You are a heartless monster." He spits out like he had venom on his tongue. My shoulders tense as my body begins to shake. My wolf was becoming furious at the disrespect. We were trying to do something nice and this is how he treats us?
"Heartless? You're the only heartless piece of shit here. You knew what those two disgusting men did to me and you did nothing. How would Octavia feel if she knew her brave honorable daddy turned away an abused and prematurely shifted boy to suffer and die."
He doesn't bother to say anything and we sat in silence. I focus on my breathing and try to think of the benefits of bringing SnowMoon over here. Octavia needs this, she misses them and ever since Siren left it's only reminded her of how much she needs them. I need to put aside my differences for her.
"Octavia's birthday is in a week and she really wants to see you. I'm willing to have you and your family escorted over here."
"Oh you're willing?" He asks sarcastically and scoffs. I shake my head disapprovingly. This man is insufferable.
"Do you want to see her or not?" I growl into the phone, gripping it so tightly it might break.
"What's the catch?"
"Have you eaten?"
She jumps up in fear and quickly pauses the show. She was wearing a large sweater and baggy sweat pants. Her hair was thrown up into a bun that sat on top of her head. The bags under her eyes made it clear that she hadn't gotten much sleep.
She shakes her head no at me. Her once vibrant green eyes are now dull and full of mixed emotions that I couldn't quite read.
"Goodness Octavia! You need to take care of yourself!" I yell out in frustration as push my hands through my hair. This whole situation has me on the verge of murdering someone. First Siren and Jalex, then Octavius and now his daughter has been ignoring her health and only speaks to children.
She flinches slightly when I punch a hole in the wall before storming out of the room. If she wants to starve then let her. I stalk out of the room furious. I know it's not her fault, hell this is all my fault. It's just... she's not making it any easier.
She needs to be stronger than this, not just for herself, but for her pack. She can't crap out like this just because someone from her past is a stupid bitch.
I could feel my wolf disagree with me and sympathize with her but I ignore him as I storm up the stairs and into my bedroom. I just want to be alone for the rest of the day.
