The men in their circle, a lot of them had families outside their

own, especially Lucian who was in the film industry, so he

thought it was nothing unusual.

As long as Terrence could handle the relationships well, Krista

and Terrence’s relationship could just stay hidden. One in

public, one in private, it wasn’t really a big deal.

It wasn’t his business to worry about.

He kept persuading Kyson, “Don’t be mad about this. It’s his

personal business. If you get involved, it’ll just mess up your

friendship. It’s really not worth it.”

Kyson glanced at Lucian, “So you were kind of jealous of him?”

“What are you talking about? I’m not jealous of him. It’s just that

us decent guys don’t have many women around.”

As they were talking, Kyson’s phone rang.

It was Bethany who called.

Since Bethany couldn’t talk, she hung up the phone and sent a

text message over.

“Are you there?”

“in.”

“I wanted to ask you for a favor, I had a friend whose movie was

almost finished, and he wanted to get in touch with theater

resources. I figured you probably had some connections in this

area.”

That day Damari called Bethany and said he wanted her to help

contact the theaters. Bethany was going to reach out to Kyson,

but then that crazy Terrence showed up at her place from his

hospital bed, interrupted her thoughts, and made her forget

about this important thing.

“Yes, I contacted them for you as soon as I could.”

“Thanks.”

The theater resources were on Kyson’s side. After Kyson replied

to the message, he was about to tell Lucian about it when

Lucian’s phone rang again.

It was his assistant who called him.

“Mr. Lamont, the animated movie you liked, director Damari

wouldn’t let us have the exclusive release, he said someone

already invested twenty–five million.”

Lucian sneered, “If he didn’t agree to let me have the exclusive

release, he could forget about getting his movie in theaters.

Dream on.”

“Alright, I’ll go talk to him again.”

Lucian hung up the phone.

Kyson asked, “Which movie pissed you off?”

“It’s the one I just talked to Terrence about, the one they

wouldn’t let me invest in, promote, and produce exclusively.”

If Lucian wanted something, he had to get it.

This had nothing to do with Kyson. Kyson didn’t think much

about it and just said, “I have a friend who also has a movie

coming out. When the time comes, help arrange some theater

resources!”

“Don’t worry, I got it all sorted for you, I’ll get you the best

screening slots. If I can’t make it happen, I can’t help with what

comes next. We’re all in this business to make a living. If

another movie comes out strong, I’ll have to give them some

slots too.”

“I knew this, just arrange it in the early stage.”

“Okay, no problem, let me know when it’s done.”

Before they parted, Lucian advised Kyson again, saying it was

best not to go after Bethany, so he wouldn’t really fall out with

Terrence later.

Good friends shouldn’t fall out over this.

Lucian didn’t know Bethany was Daphne, so he felt closer to

Terrence. Terrence and Bethany were legally married, so it just

didn’t make sense for Kyson to get involved.

After Kyson got in the car, he thought about what Lucian had

said, and he felt really conflicted.

If he liked Bethany, he wouldn’t have thought that Bethany

being with Julio was better than being with Terrence. He

should have thought that Bethany being with him was better

than being with Terrence.
