Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 512

As soon as Nadine uttered the last word, Harrison’s fury erupted like a storm, sweeping across her face with a force that made her freeze where she stood.

She was still trying to process what had just happened when Harrison’s voice, heavy with authority, crashed over her.

“Thrown away?”

Nadine flinched.

“Y-yes…” Years of working for the Vaughn family had made her shrewd—she understood immediately. Tossing out the worthless clothes Selene had left behind, that was what had set Harrison off. Though she couldn’t fathom why he cared, it was clear she’d touched a nerve.

Quickly, she tried to deflect responsibility. “I was just following Mrs. Vaughn’s instructions.”

Harrison knew there was no retrieving what the housekeepers had thrown out. Raising a fuss would only alert his mother and father—and he was well aware his response was irrational. Still, he couldn’t help himself.

It was just like that stethoscope Dames had tossed in the trash—gone, irretrievable.

Piece by piece, everything tied to Selene was vanishing from this house.

Standing in the hallway, Harrison tried to conjure up images of Selene’s life here, but his mind came up blank.

Selene had been a housewife, spending nearly all her time at Vaughn Manor. How could there be nothing left of her?

But it was simple—he had never paid attention before.

He shouldn’t be thinking about this.

That’s what Harrison told himself.

He steadied his breathing and, after a moment, spoke to Nadine in a calm, measured tone. “From now on, I’m in charge here. Nothing happens in this house—big or small—without my approval first.”

“Uh…” Nadine hesitated. Harrison was always swamped with work. Was he really going to have time to sign off on every little thing in the manor?

But since he insisted, she had no choice but to ask, “Then sir, about breakfast and dinner for you and the young master tomorrow—how should we arrange that?”

Harrison replied, “However Selene used to do it. Just keep doing things the way she did.”

Nadine fell silent, the conversation over.
