Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 473

Maybe it was all the manure shoveling, the pigsty cleaning, and the herding of cattle and sheep lately, but Harrison’s lifelong obsession with cleanliness had finally been cured.

He crouched down and started digging through the trash.

He noticed Dames just standing there, frozen, and barked sharply, “What are you doing just standing around? Get over here and help! If we don’t find that stethoscope, you can forget about dinner!”

The gravity of the situation finally registered for Dames. Dread and fear settled in his chest as he stared miserably at the mountain of garbage.

“Dad, can’t you at least give me a pair of gloves?”

“Start looking!” Harrison snapped. “If we can’t find it, I’ll toss you in the dumpster myself!”

For the first time, Harrison’s patience with his son snapped completely. His eyes burned with fury, and his jaw was set in a hard, sharp line.

Dames flinched, held his breath, and crouched down beside his father.

He poked through the trash with a look of utter disgust. “Dad, I can just buy you a new stethoscope,” he tried.

“I’ll buy you ten if you want!”

Harrison’s voice was tight with frustration. “You could buy me a hundred and it wouldn’t matter! That one isn’t just any stethoscope.”

Dames hesitated, then asked, “Is that stethoscope really that important to you?”

Harrison froze. For a long moment he said nothing, just sifted through the trash in silence. After several minutes, he finally spoke, voice low.

“It is important to me. Very important…”

He fell silent again. Together, they searched the entire bin, but the stethoscope was nowhere to be found.

Dames scratched the back of his head. “I threw it out this morning. Maybe the garbage has already been collected…”

Harrison’s hands balled into fists, the veins standing out on his lean forearms.

He pulled out his phone and called his assistant.
