Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 442

“Selene, is there someone with you?”

“Who’s by your side?”

Harrison’s barrage of questions cut sharply through the tension Selene had been feeling, pushing her swirling frustration aside in an instant.

“Why does it matter to you?” she shot back, her tone icy.

Harrison grew flustered. “Dames is still there, you know! There’s a man with you? How could you be so inconsiderate of Dames’s feelings?”

Selene gave a perfectly practiced eye roll. “Oh, and when you’re slinging your arm around your best buddy, Dames just doesn’t exist?”

Dames, ever the mediator, turned to Harrison. “So what Mom means is, it’s just her guy-friend hanging out with her?”

“There’s no such thing as a ‘guy-friend’!” Harrison nearly exploded, his anger barely contained.

It felt like a thousand powder kegs were detonating in his chest.

Frantically, he tried to recall whose hand that could’ve been.

Luke Holloway’s skin was dark; it couldn’t have been his.

The hand that had just caressed Selene’s face—it had to be either Adrian or Carmel!

Selene was sitting on the hospital bed, and from the angle that hand had approached, the man must have been sitting on the bed with her.

How could she let another man sit on her hospital bed?

Harrison’s eyes darted back to his phone, only to realize the video call had already been cut off.

His face turned a furious shade of red, almost as if smoke might start pouring from his ears.

Dames peered up, studying Harrison’s expression intently. “Dad, why are you so mad? That guy didn’t even do anything.”

“You didn’t see his hand? He was touching your mother’s face, and he knew perfectly well Selene was on a video call with us!”

Harrison was practically seething. “Homewrecker!”

He spit the word out, convinced that man’s actions were a blatant, in-your-face provocation.

But Dames remained unfazed. “He just touched her, that’s all.”

What was the big deal?

“Felicity hugs you all the time, doesn’t she?”

“I—” Harrison nearly choked on his own fury.

He scrambled to explain, “I’m a man! It’s not the same! If Felicity hugs me, I’m not getting taken advantage of. But your mom and another man? That’s different—she’s the one being crossed.”

“Is it really?” Dames blinked his big dark eyes, genuinely puzzled.

Was there really such a big difference between men and women?

His dad could be physically close with any woman, but his mom couldn’t be near any man.
