Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 428

Harrison’s fingers tightened around the business card, knuckles standing out stark and pale beneath his skin.

He wasn’t holding Adrian’s business card—he was holding a gauntlet Adrian had just thrown down.

A derisive laugh slipped from Harrison’s lips. “All this talk about starlight and moonbeams… About the moon turning dark and the stars always shining bright. Do you really need to dress up your affair with another man’s wife in such poetic nonsense?”

With a twist of his long, elegant fingers, Harrison crumpled Adrian’s card into a compact ball.

He released it. The battered card slipped from his palm, fluttered to the ground, and landed by his feet.

Harrison raised his foot and ground the card beneath his heel.

He gestured at Adrian, nodding toward his wrist. “This is a birthday gift from Selene. A Jaeger-LeCoultre moon phase watch.”

He arched an eyebrow, emphasizing every word. “A moon phase. See? Selene wanted me to wear her on my wrist.”

Adrian glanced down, letting out a short, scornful laugh. In his eyes, Harrison’s display was nothing but a bad joke.

“Let’s get to the real reason we’re here.”

Adrian dragged a chair over, dropping into it with his legs spread wide, posture careless and defiant.

The sharp lines of Harrison’s handsome face hardened as he tipped his chin up and spoke first. “Leo named you as his attorney. That means Selene and Altair were rescued, right? How are they? Before the police dragged me in, I didn’t see either of them being carried out by firefighters.”

Adrian replied coolly, “If you want to know about Altair, ask your uncle. As for Selene, I have nothing to say. You have no right to ask.”

He handed Harrison a thick stack of documents. “I’ll tell you one thing—Leo has zero tolerance for arson. Your son, Damien, started this fire. As his legal guardian, you’re responsible.”

Wesley, his lower face still smeared with blood, spoke up in a tremulous voice. “Attorney Shaw… how long will I go to jail?”

Without taking his eyes off Harrison, Adrian answered, “More than ten years.”

Wesley’s knees began to shake so violently he nearly fainted right out of his chair.

Harrison turned to the officers. “I’ll bring my son in for questioning. The Vaughn family will cover the school’s losses. For everything else, my attorneys will handle it.”

After wrapping up with the police, Harrison stood. Adrian called after him, “Running away already, Mr. Vaughn?”
