Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 425

“Shut up!”

Harrison snapped, his voice sharp as broken glass. Fury flashed in his eyes, dark and dangerous.

One of the bodyguards finally dared to voice the question that had been weighing on everyone. “Mr. Vaughn, how are we supposed to explain this to Dr. Vaughn?”

A headache pounded behind Harrison’s eyes, as if someone had stuffed his skull with tangled, fraying threads he couldn’t unravel.

Since the fire started, he hadn’t allowed himself to think about what he’d say to Leo.

Selene still hadn’t come out of the auditorium. Harrison couldn’t even begin to imagine what she was going through inside that inferno.

Just then, the first team of firefighters emerged from the burning building.

Harrison rushed forward. When he realized none of them had brought anyone out, the light in his eyes dimmed.

“Where’s Selene?” His breathing came in ragged, shallow bursts, his voice trembling beyond his control.

One of the firefighters answered, “We didn’t find anyone inside the auditorium.”

“If you didn’t find anyone, then what the hell are you doing out here?!”

Harrison’s roar hit with the force of a hurricane, each word shaking everyone to their core.

Flames reflected in his eyes. The sharp lines of his face twisted with rage, veins bulging across his forehead like restless snakes.

The firefighters fell silent. Their captain stepped forward, trying to calm him.

“We’re sending in another team for a thorough search, Mr. Vaughn. You have our word—we won’t give up on a single life.”

Harrison’s assistant, pale and shaken, glanced nervously at Damien. He’d never imagined things would reach this point.

“How did Altair even get trapped in there?” he whispered to Damien.

“I don’t know.”

Damien’s answer was terse, and the assistant knew better than to press further.

A Vaughn family bodyguard stepped up, trying to reason with Harrison. “Mr. Vaughn, let us take you home. As soon as the firefighters rescue Miss Thompson and young Altair, you’ll be the first to know.”

Harrison gave a bitter, humorless laugh. “I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying right here until I see them with my own eyes.”

“Dad!” Damien called out, voice cracking. “What if Mom’s hiding inside on purpose… refusing to come out?”

“What nonsense are you spouting?!”

Harrison’s gaze was like a blade, and for a moment it felt as if he might cut Damien in two with just his eyes.

Pinned by his father’s stare, Damien couldn’t move.

“Take Damien home,” Harrison ordered, not sparing his son another glance.
