Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 354

All that was left in Gwyneth’s eyes was a glimmer of cold calculation. Years ago, she’d thrown Selene out of the game with nothing more than a $2 million payout. Now she wanted Selene back—and the price Selene named was two billion.

But Gwyneth knew Selene wanted far more than just a number.

A dry chuckle slipped from Gwyneth’s throat. She was no stranger to tough negotiations or partners who tried to bleed her dry; she’d weathered boardrooms and battlefields alike. Even now, across from Selene, Gwyneth was in her element. “Miss Thompson, you really don’t understand the market. I can offer you seventy percent of the profits, but any investment still needs board approval...”

Selene didn’t budge. “Unless you hand the entire project over to me, there’s no deal.”

“Pure fantasy,” Gwyneth snapped. No one had ever dared try to snatch such a lucrative prize straight from her hands.

Selene, unfazed, just sighed lightly, her composure unbroken. “Ms. Lockridge, it’s precisely because I know what you’re capable of that I’m asking so much. I still have nightmares about how you kicked me out last time. So unless you’re ready to hand me the lion’s share—one hundred percent, no strings attached—there’s nothing to talk about.

The world will keep spinning just fine without me, Ms. Lockridge. You’re free to find someone else.”

Selene stood, brushing past Gwyneth without another glance.

But Gwyneth’s mind was already racing—about QuanTech Innovations, the company she owned, and the team of experts from OmniCore Technologies she’d flown in. They’d spent three sleepless days poring over the framework Selene had developed for the desert module, and still, they’d come up empty.

Gwyneth’s jaw clenched so tight she almost cracked a molar.

“Selene!” she barked.

Selene paused, hearing Gwyneth’s voice echo behind her.

“I honestly can’t fathom how someone like Victor and Matilda could have a daughter like you,” Gwyneth said, her words half admiring, half incredulous.

Selene offered a small, polite smile. “Thank you for the compliment, Ms. Lockridge.”

A cold huff escaped Gwyneth’s throat. She’d come all the way to Charteris Academy to find Selene, even stepped in to put the arrogant Vaughn family and their snobbish teachers in their place. She’d thought Selene would appreciate the gesture—and that it would give her the upper hand in negotiations. But Selene was proving stubborn as ever, utterly immovable.

Gwyneth made up her mind in a heartbeat. Hesitation had never been her style.
