Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 319

Felicity could feel Victor’s breathing grow heavier; a flicker of hope stirred within her, as if she might actually turn the tables.

Perfect—now it would be Selene’s turn to face Victor’s wrath!

Victor scrolled through Felicity’s phone, deleting every last video connected to Selene.

He exhaled sharply, then slapped Felicity hard across the face.

The blow landed with a sharp crack, sending the cotton wad from Felicity’s mouth—slick with blood—spattering onto the floor.

“Felicity! You miserable excuse for a daughter! You’ve ruined me, and now you want to ruin Selene too? You’re trying to destroy the entire Thompson family! I swear, I’ll beat you senseless!”

Victor looked like his eyes might pop from his skull.

“I didn’t!” Felicity choked out, the taste of blood and iron filling her mouth.

She tried to explain, but her words were useless. Why wouldn’t Victor believe her?

He flung her phone at her and reached for his belt.

When Felicity saw what he intended, terror flashed in her eyes.

Just then, Victor’s phone started ringing.

With the belt still in hand, he gave Felicity a careless lash, then fished his phone from his pocket.

“Yeah?” he snapped, glancing at the caller ID before answering.

After listening for a moment, he pressed a hand to his brow. “Come in.”

A handful of major shareholders from Thompson Victory Technologies filed into the room. Their leader wasted no time: “Victor, the rumors swirling around you are out of control. The board at OmniCore Technologies is considering withdrawing from the acquisition!”

Victor paled, panic setting in. “What? They can’t just back out! I’ll speak to OmniCore’s executives myself!”

One shareholder blocked his path. “Don’t you see? If you show your face now, you’ll just make things worse. You want to give everyone more ammunition?”

“I—” Victor stammered.

The shareholders looked at each other, then the spokesman continued, “We’ve discussed it, and we all agree: you need to issue a public statement resigning as CEO. It’s the only way to calm the public and protect the company.”

Another shareholder gave Felicity a look of pure disgust. “How could you let this scandal break right when Thompson Victory Technologies is at the negotiation table for a takeover?”

Victor pressed his lips together, clearly unwilling to give up his position.

“If I step down, who’s going to run the company?”

All eyes turned to Selene.

“I nominate your daughter, Selene,” one shareholder announced. “She should serve as acting CEO.”

Another quickly chimed in, “Selene’s been doing great work lately. At the very least, let her act as interim CEO. That way, you don’t have to fully step aside.”

Still, he comforted himself: once Selene closed the deal and the company was sold, he’d walk away with a fortune and start over somewhere new.

He gripped his belt and, unable to contain his frustration, gave Felicity another smack on the head.

“Ow! That hurts!” Felicity cried, clutching her head in pain.

Her scream only fueled Victor’s rage.

“This is all your fault!”

Felicity looked at Selene, and suddenly a chill swept through her.

She realized Selene had orchestrated the whole affair.

Selene had deliberately let her see the incriminating video of herself and Harrison.

It was a setup, a calculated move to provoke her into causing a scene at Selene’s inauguration.

But Selene had swapped out the videos at the last moment, turning Felicity’s plan back on her.

Now, Victor’s reputation was destroyed, and he’d been forced to resign. Selene, as acting CEO, would have real power over the company.

As Felicity pieced everything together, a wave of dread washed over her.

She jabbed a trembling finger at Selene and shrieked, “Dad, we’ve been played!”
