Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 310

With a teasing glint in her eye, Felicity turned to Victor. “Dad, honestly, was it really necessary to ask Selene to bring Mr. Shaw along? Aren’t you just setting her up for an impossible task?”

When Felicity first heard that Adrian had become Selene’s boyfriend, she was convinced Victor must be joking—or that Selene had somehow managed to fool him.

Adrian Shaw was the dream man, the gold standard of eligible bachelors—countless socialites’ ideal, the top of anyone’s wishlist. Even if Selene hit the jackpot, there was no way she could actually catch Adrian’s eye.

Felicity knew full well that Adrian had standards higher than the sky. Unlike the other wealthy heirs with their endless tabloid gossip, he’d never been linked to anyone, not even a hint of a scandal, since he was sixteen or seventeen.

For a while, rumors had swirled in their social circle that Adrian was secretly gay, but it wasn’t long before those rumor-mongers all received legal notices from Adrian’s lawyers.

So, when Victor had told her that Selene and Adrian were together, Felicity’s first reaction had been a dry, “Better watch out—Mr. Shaw might just send you a cease-and-desist.”

But Victor had been adamant, telling her to ask around if she didn’t believe him.

And then Felicity saw them—photo after photo of Selene and Adrian together, looking like a picture-perfect couple wherever they went. Even the most candid snapshots looked straight out of a glossy TV drama: two stunning people, intimately close, as if the world around them didn’t exist.

Felicity had been so stunned, she’d gone pale.

How could Adrian possibly be serious about Selene? Even if he was with her, surely she was just a passing fancy.

And now, today of all days, Victor had asked Selene to bring Adrian to her welcome ceremony at the company. Yet Selene was nowhere to be seen.

Adrian was a man with the world on his shoulders—no way would he have time to play Selene’s plus-one all day.

“Miss Thompson is here!”

“Ms. Thompson has arrived!”

Selene’s calm voice broke his reverie. “Since you’re throwing me this welcome reception, the reporters thought it’d be a great opportunity to get some footage for my special feature.”

Victor couldn’t hide his pride. “That’s my daughter! You’ve even got National Broadcast Network doing a feature on you!”

Sophie and Selene exchanged a quick, knowing glance.

Selene had reached out to Sophie for two reasons—one, to make sure she didn’t miss tonight’s unfolding drama, and two, to ask her to broadcast the evening’s footage live to another device.

Victor, all smiles, addressed the reporters. “Feel free to film whatever you like!”

Then he strode over and introduced himself to Sophie. “I’m Selene’s father, President of Thompson Victory Technologies. Why don’t I tell you all about the history and achievements of our company?”
