Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 292

Before meeting Gwyneth, Selene had already informed Luke Holloway of her plans.

Worried about her safety, Luke arranged for several bodyguards to keep watch from the shadows as Selene went to her meeting.

The bodyguards stationed in the parking garage saw the elevator doors open and someone step inside. Moments later, a black van pulled up and stopped right in front of the elevator.

A man in a mask emerged, carrying Selene—unconscious—over his shoulder.

Sensing something was terribly wrong, the bodyguards rushed forward to intervene.

But they were too late. Selene was thrown into the van, and the vehicle sped away toward the exit.

“Miss Thompson has been taken! Requesting backup!” one bodyguard shouted into his radio.

Another jumped into a car and gave chase, only to have a second vehicle suddenly swerve in front of him, blocking his path.

In an instant, the black van disappeared into traffic.

Inside, Harrison sat in the back seat, his face impassive, dark suit immaculate.

Selene, limp and unconscious, lay sprawled across the seat with her head resting in Harrison’s lap. Her dark hair, as smooth as silk, tumbled across her face and down over his thigh.

Harrison lowered his eyes, his expression unreadable. His gaze was fathomless, as dark and endless as a midnight sky.

He reached out, almost as if to brush the hair from Selene’s face, but stopped himself at the last moment, hand frozen mid-air.

When Selene woke, a chill swept through her. She shivered, eyes blinking open to a stark, unfamiliar room.

White walls. Dim lighting. Harrison sat in a chair about three feet away.

He was hunched forward, elbows on his knees, fingertips pressed together, deep in thought.

When Selene shifted, metal clinked and rattled at her wrists.

Harrison’s head snapped up as he realized she was awake.

Selene was kneeling on the floor, her hands chained above her. She looked down and noticed the shoes on her feet—the very pair Gwyneth had given her. Who had put them on her?

She glanced up at the man before her, anxiety knotting her insides as she struggled against the restraints.

But when he didn’t move, Selene snapped, “Are you trying to throw your whole future away for this?!”

A thin layer of frost seemed to settle over his chiseled features. Since Natalie’s death, Selene hadn’t seen his brow relax, not even once.

Harrison pulled out an old phone and pressed play on a recording.

“Felicity, have you seen Natalie? I can’t find her. She told me to meet her here, but she’s not answering. Can you reach her for me?”

Hearing Natalie’s voice, Selene froze.

Harrison’s lashes lowered as he spoke, his tone cold as ice. “This is the last recording Natalie sent you before she died.”

Selene met his gaze, her voice steady and serious. “First of all, I never agreed to meet Natalie that day. This recording is either faked, or someone pretended to be me and lured her out.”

Harrison’s dark eyes bore into hers. “I had the audio authenticated. There’s no sign of tampering.”

Selene’s breath caught. “Then someone used my name to trick her. Where did you get this recording?”

Her question barely left her lips before his hand shot out, fingers clamping around her jaw with bruising force, as if he wanted to crush her bones.
