Dumping The Ice King His Mini-Tyrant novel Chapter 243

Up in the stands, Clayton was on the phone with Victor Thompson.

“Hey, Dad, Felicity just lost. Yeah, dead last—she didn’t even come close to the second-to-last finisher.”

Clayton couldn’t help but laugh, and Victor’s voice erupted from the phone, laced with frustration.

“She must have glue for brains! What an embarrassment! I told her not to make a fool of herself, but now look—great, just great! All of Capital City knows she’s hopeless!”

On the other end, Victor pressed a hand to his forehead, his voice rising. “She’s dragged the Thompson family name straight through the mud!”

Nearby, Clayton overheard the other sons of the city’s elite shouting, their voices animated and full of excitement.

“No way! Is Luna really going to reveal her face?”

“Holy—! The mysterious goddess Luna is finally pulling back the curtain!”

An entire row of rich young men shot to their feet. Some aimed binoculars at the track, others whipped out their phones, zooming in to catch a closer look.

Clayton glanced up at the jumbotron, not expecting much—until his gaze landed on Luna’s image.

He froze. The phone slipped from his hand and hit the ground with a sharp crack.

Down on the track, Selene cradled her helmet and waved to the crowd. With every turn toward a new section of the stands, the cheers grew louder.

“She’s so young!”

“Wait, she looks really familiar. Where have I seen her before?”

“That’s Selene! The genius homemaker who won the ALI Math Competition gold medal a while back! Oh my god, Luna is Selene!”

“No way—that’s Selene, the math prodigy? She’s Luna? She’s unreal!”

As the realization swept through the audience, people screamed themselves hoarse, their excitement boiling over.

“Mommy, it’s Mommy!”

In the front row, Daph stood with Luke Holloway and Carmel. The moment Selene’s face filled the screen, Daph leapt out of her seat.

An elderly woman stood up slowly, taking a few steps forward before pointing a trembling finger at Selene’s face on the screen. “Why does the camera keep showing her?”

“Gemma, Miss Thompson is the one who just won first place—she’s Luna!”

One of the heiresses glanced at Dames. Just minutes ago, he’d been loudly insisting that Luna should be his new mom.

Now, he was utterly silent.

She offered a gentle smile. “Isn’t that wonderful? Your idol, your goddess Luna—she’s your mom!”

Dames looked as if he’d been struck by lightning, his body jolting in shock.

He pressed his hands to the glass, eyes wide and glued to the jumbotron, his gaze unblinking and intense.

A look of utter astonishment froze on his pale, innocent face.

His lips trembled, but not a single word would come out.
