Chapter 633
“That’s more like it. You need to keep our mission and shared goal in mind at all times.”
Tessa leaned in and planted a kiss on Julian’s cheek.
“Cheer up. This time, the dosage is strong enough to keep her under for two months. There’s no need to worry about it wearing off too soon.”
She’d already instructed the doctor to increase the dose, extending its effects.
That way, there was no need to panic about what came next.
As long as they stuck to the schedule, everything would go according to plan.
“Alright. Don’t worry,” Julian said.
Tessa kissed him again, then once more. “I’ll be waiting for good news. You’ve got this.”
Julian gave a short “mm,” his expression still a little serious, but clearly more composed than before.
The tension on his face had eased.
Just moments ago, Tessa had whispered in his ear that once the general manager position was secured, they’d move forward with marriage plans.
That would solidify the investment from the Hayes family, and their future would be smooth sailing from there.
With that thought, Julian’s mood lifted considerably.
He even reached out to wrap an arm around Tessa’s waist, ready to head back to the hotel.
But Tessa pulled away. “Not yet. Wait until it’s done.”
“We still need to keep an eye on things here. I don’t believe Lucas is going to stay by Aurora’s side forever.”
Seeing how serious she was, Julian dropped the playful look and turned to focus on the hospital room ahead.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Megan and Leonard found themselves in an awkward silence.
Leonard rubbed his nose. “So, uh… where do we go now?”
“Obviously, we find a hotel,” Megan replied casually, sipping her tea like this was nothing new.
She paused, glanced at Leonard, and added, “Well, at least when it comes to me. As for you, I have no idea.”
Watching the little expressions on her face, he found himself wondering–how could a girl be this adorable?
He laughed. “You don’t have to say it. I’m pretty sure he hates my guts.”
After all, they’d gone head–to–head before.
Burying the hatchet now? That would be a long shot.
Megan grew curious. “Do you still like Aurora?”
The question caught Leonard completely off guard.
He stood frozen, not expecting Megan to ask something so blunt.
For a moment, all he felt was awkwardness, followed by a wave of uncertainty. “I… honestly don’t know.”
Even though he wasn’t sure what he really felt, he still tried to explain what had been on his mind.
“With Aurora, it’s more about admiration and gratitude. Now that know someone else is taking care of her, wouldn’t it be wrong for me to interfere?”
