“How can all of you be so good to me?”
As she spoke, Aurora’s voice had already begun to tremble.
She was never someone who became emotional easily.
And she had always believed she had a high threshold for tears.
She simply hadn’t expected this family to keep breaking through her defenses.
Because they were genuinely, overwhelmingly kind.
No matter how she looked at it, Aurora had never known a family that treated her this well.
She once thought such things only existed on television.
After all, what had she done to deserve so many people caring for her like this?
And yet now, she truly had it.
Lucas noticed the tears welling in her eyes.
He reached out and pulled her into his arms.
“Silly girl. That’s because you’re already good to begin with.”
At those words, Aurora’s tears finally spilled over.
Because only someone who truly loved her would believe she was already enough.
Only in that moment did Aurora finally understand that even without her mother, she could still take good care of herself.
She no longer needed to worry about the feelings of those who never loved her.
Diana and Edward exchanged a glance, both feeling deeply moved.
It hadn’t been easy for the two of them to make it this far—they had seen everything along the way.
“Just live well together. If anything comes up in the future, you can always tell us,” Diana said.
Then she added, “Aurora, once the baby is born, you don’t need to worry about anything. Just leave the child to us.”
Edward’s eyes widened.
A hint of reluctance rose in his heart.
He had only just finished raising Lucas, and now he was expected to raise Lucas’s child too.
How could he possibly agree to something like that?
