Dumping My Ex to Flash Marry the Untouchable CEO novel Chapter 1726

“You do make a little sense.”

“Besides, why do you think I hired so many assistants and secretaries? It’s exactly so they can handle things when I’m not at the company.”

When Lucas said this, he even sounded a bit smug. “Otherwise, when I’m out on business trips, what else are they there for?”

Those words completely rewired Aurora’s worldview.

Aurora stared at him, dazed. “That actually makes perfect sense. I think I should learn from you.”

“You’re just too easy to push around.”

As he spoke, Lucas reached over and pinched her soft cheek.

Feeling the warmth under his fingertips, he narrowed his eyes in satisfaction.

That feeling was simply too good.

With Aurora staying by his side, he felt like the luckiest man alive.

“You don’t need to overthink. Even if something does happen, you still have me.

Lucas waved his hand. “Go ahead and do whatever you want out there. Start a business or make a mess. It doesn’t matter. Your husband will back you up.”

The moment he said “husband,” Aurora’s face flushed bright red.

“It’s the middle of the day. What nonsense are you talking about?”

Lucas pretended not to notice a thing.

“I’m just stating facts. You’re my wife. Why can’t I say these things to you?”

As he spoke, his hands began to wander with unmistakable intent.

Aurora pressed his hands down and pulled the conversation back.

“So… I can stay here with Megan for a while and look around?”

“That depends on your performance.”

That was why she feared he might strike back from some hidden corner and catch her off guard.

She spent the whole afternoon turning things over in her mind, convinced that Edwin’s sudden appearance today was meant as a warning.

In the past, he would never have flown all the way from home to another country just to say a few words to her.

He had always been the kind of man who wouldn’t stop until he achieved what he wanted.

Those few comments alone were not enough for him to make such a trip.

And she hadn’t exactly treated him warmly today.

No matter how she looked at it, Yvonne didn’t believe he would let her off so easily.

When she arrived home, she noticed the lights in the living room were still on, and she felt a flicker of confusion.

She glanced at her watch. It was already 11 p.m. Normally, her parents would be asleep by now.

They always kept a strict routine, so how could the living room lights still be on at this hour?
