After all her years in the industry, Yvonne knew better than anyone how powerful public opinion could be.
If Lucas didn’t step forward to clarify, the rumors would never die down.
Her thoughts shifted in an instant. “You’re right, if he’s not denying it, then it just proves he doesn’t have any real feelings for Aurora.”
Yvonne thought about it carefully.
If it were someone she truly cared about being slandered like that, she would’ve stepped up immediately to explain the truth. There was no way she’d just sit back and watch him be torn apart.
And knowing Lucas as well as she did after years of working with him, she was certain he wasn’t the kind of man to stay silent when pushed.
That was exactly why, when she had started this whole thing online, she’d been taking a calculated risk, but clearly, it was paying off.
Her assistant, seeing that she had successfully soothed Yvonne’s anger, secretly let out a breath of relief.
It seemed that no matter the age or status, no one could stand being dismissed. The assistant realized she still had much to learn about navigating the workplace.
Sighing quietly, she said, “I’ll keep an eye on Aurora’s side. If there’s any update, I’ll report to you immediately, Miss Song.”
“Alright, go,” Yvonne replied, her mood completely lifted. The irritation from before had faded, replaced with satisfaction.
She picked up her phone and kept refreshing the feed, waiting to see if anyone, especially Lucas, would step out to deny the rumors.
But what Yvonne didn’t know was that Lucas had, in fact, wanted to clear things up the moment he saw the trending topic.
His first instinct was to have Desmond release an official statement.
However, he paused, remembering what Aurora had once told him.
