Don't Try to Escape, My Wife! novel Chapter 935

"Petty!"

Nicole's heart skipped a beat. She wanted to run inside but was stopped by Samuel.

"Stay out here. I'm going in to take a look."

With that, Samuel left Nicole to Ernesto and ran inside.

Nicole looked at his back with concerns.

"Ernesto, follow him. It was so loud. I wonder what happened to them inside. Lillian and Petty are both women and pregnant. And Zac is nowhere to see. Samuel can't handle it by himself."

Ernesto paused at her words.

"But Mr. Green asked me to take care of you."

"I'm fine. How can I be in danger out here? I'll call the police. Hurry up."

Nicole pushed Ernesto and picked up her phone to make a call.

Seeing that Nicole insisted, Ernesto ran into the house to help.

Nicole finished her phone call. Before she could turn around, she saw a figure running towards her. Because of the smoke, she found the person somewhat familiar, but she could not clearly see the face.

"Who are you?"

The figure sprinkled a handful of powder towards Nicole.

Attacked by a sweet smell, Nicole found her eyes darken and she fainted.

By the time she woke up again, she was in the hospital.

"Nicole? Are you alright?"

Samuel looked at her anxiously, haggard.

Nicole shook her head and asked, "What's wrong?"

"You fainted on the roadside. Fortunately, I came out in time. What happened? The doctor says that you have low blood sugar. Did you not eat well? You are weak now, and you eat for two people. Don't skip meals because you want to stay in shape. Did you hear me?"

Samuel wasn't accusing her. He was sorry for her.

Nicole couldn't think straight, and her brain even hurt.

"Wait, you said I fainted on the roadside?"

"Yes."

"I was drugged."

Nicole touched her forehead and said. Samuel's face darkened.

"What are you talking about?"

"I remember very well that I saw a figure running out of the house. I couldn't see his or her face clearly, but somehow this person looked so familiar. I demanded the person's identity, only to be sprinkled with a handful of powder. It smelled very sweet, and then I blacked out."

Nicole tried her best to explain in detail, but the headache still didn't get better.

Samuel called Ernesto immediately.

"Check the surveillance video and see who Mrs. Green met before she fainted."

Soon, Ernesto reported that the footage had been cut off.

Samuel's expression became darker.

Who was it?

Who was that bold?

How dared they attack Nicole right in front of him?

"The doctor will examine you again. I thought you fainted from low blood sugar, but I was wrong. Then we need to check out any hidden dangers."

Hearing Samuel, Nicole nodded and endured the discomfort to have a full body check-up.

While waiting for the result, she asked Samuel, "How are Petty and Lillian? Are they hurt?"

"No."

"Why did it suddenly explode?"

Samuel sighed at Nicole's question. "Lillian didn't know how to use the microwave. She misplaced something in it and caused an explosion. Fortunately, she was not in the kitchen at that time, and Petty was also walking in the garden. Otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable. I couldn't blame her. Let's move to the seaside villa for the next few days. The mention needs to be renovated."

Nicole was surprised by his words. She never expected that would be the case.

"It's good that nobody was hurt. I thought it was an attack by someone who doesn’t like us."

Nicole gave a mocking smile.

But Samuel seemed to be lost in thought.

"Maybe it makes sense."

"What?"

Nicole guessed that Samuel was a little overly concerned.

But Samuel said in a low voice, "The microwave oven is powerful, but it can't blow up the kitchen and living room, can it? And when we came back, we did see a figure dashing away. Who was that person? Why did that person come out of our house? I asked Lillian and Petty. They said no one came to our house today. Since that's the case, who did we see?"

Surprised for a short while, Nicole asked, "Do you suspect that someone planted the illusion of the microwave explosion?"

"Yes!"

"Why? For what?"

Samuel thought for a while before saying, "Perhaps to blow me up, or Lillian."

"Lillian?"

Nicole's heart skipped a beat.

Everyone in the Green's knew that Nicole rarely cooked. Samuel liked to prepare breakfast for Nicole every morning, and Lillian spent the rest of the time in the kitchen.

In this way, the attacker was either aiming at Samuel or Lillian.

Lillian blamed herself.

She was grateful that neither Petty nor Nicole was home. If they had been hurt, even Lillian's death could not have redeemed her fault.

Seeing that Lillian was so guilty, Nicole said immediately, "Lillian, you didn't do it on purpose. It's even better. I have long been dissatisfied with the decoration of the mansion, but I couldn’t find a proper excuse to renovate it. It's good now. I finally got my wish."

How could Lillian not know that Nicole was comforting her?

She looked at Nicole gratefully, unable to utter a single word.

Noting the tiredness in Nicole's eyes, Samuel interposed, "Alright, Petty, bring Lillian over. You should still have your things at the villa. You can live in it after a little cleaning up. Nicole is tired. Let her have some rest. We will stay in the hospital tonight. If Nicole feels better tomorrow, we'll go home."

"Alright, we're leaving. Nicole, take good care of yourself. Tell me what you want to eat and I'll cook for you."

Nicole nod with a smile at Petty's words.

"All I want now is to sleep."

She had a bad headache.

Seeing her condition, Lillian and Petty left rapidly.

After sending them away, Samuel went back and found that Nicole was asleep.

Worried, he went to the doctor to ask about Nicole's state. The doctor regarded it as a normal reaction after being drugged. Coupled with the fact that Nicole was pregnant, she was sure to be tired.

Samuel stayed awake all night with Nicole.

But Nicole had a good sleep.

When she opened her eyes and saw Samuel's bloodshot eyes and stubble, she was touched.

"You haven't slept all night?"

"I'm good. I was relieved to see you sleeping soundly. How do you feel? Do you still have a headache?"

"Much better. You should go and rest for a while."

Nicole urged Samuel to have a rest. But Samuel said he could wait. Only after the doctor ran a check for Nicole and assured him that she was fine did Samuel breathe a sigh of relief.

The two went home. Under Nicole's plea, Samuel finally went back to the bedroom to sleep.

He asked Nicole to stay with him and fell asleep soon.

Nicole watched the exhausted man and gently covered him with a quilt. Then she heard a knock on the door from outside.

"Mrs. Green, I have something urgent to discuss with you."

"Wait a moment."

Nicole looked at Samuel. Seeing that he was sleeping deeply, she got up and walked out gently.

"What is it?"

Nicole asked in a hushed voice.

Ernesto looked at her and hesitated.
