Don't Try to Escape, My Wife! novel Chapter 1294

Walk right into the trap?

Nicole did not know. She only knew that she needed to figure out Juliana's identity now. After all, Samuel and Zoe weren't around. She was worried.

"Let me go with you."

Sally was still concerned about Nicole.

Nicole looked at Sally and thought of her mother, Audrey. If Audrey was still alive, she should be worried about herself too.

A trace of pain flashed through Nicole's eyes.

She nodded and said, "If my mother was still alive, she would care about me as much as you do."

Sally was surprised and sighed, "The biggest regret in my life is that I didn't come back as soon as possible."

"Some things are destined, right? Some destinies can't be forced. When these things are over, come home with me to see your grandfather. He missed you so much these years."

Nicole still couldn't trust Sally completely, but there were some emotions that she could not suppress.

She hoped she was doing the right thing to trust Sally in this.

Sally nodded. "I'll go get ready to go to the Bryan Town with you later."

"Alright."

Nicole nodded and turned around to pack up.

She arranged for Morgan to be in charge of the Harper Town in her absence. There shouldn't be any problem. Moreover, the Harper Town was Morgan's hometown. Nicole also asked Joseph to stay.

Joseph agreed to Nicole's arrangement and reminded her to be careful.

Shortly after, Nicole and Sally went to the Bryan Town.

The Bryan Town looked the same as when Samuel was still around. When Asher Humfrey, head of the Bryan Town, saw Nicole, he was a little surprised.

"Mrs. Green? What brings you here? Didn't you and Mr. Green go into the mountain?"

"Has Juliana returned?"

Asher shook his head in surprise when he heard Nicole's question.

"Juliana and Miss Zoe went to look for you. Didn't you see them?"

"May I see your wife?"

Nicole did not answer, but still smiled. However, Asher sensed something happened.

"Did Juliana do something wrong?"

"Mr. Humfrey, what do you think Juliana can do wrong?"

Nicole's question made Asher a little nervous.

"I ... I don't know."

"Please let me see Mrs. Humfrey."

Mrs. Humfrey was a descendant of the Harper Town. Nicole hoped that she could do something considering the connection.

Asher thought for a moment and remarked, "No matter what Juliana has done, I hope you can be tactful in front of my wife. She is not in good health. I don't want anything to happen to her because of Juliana. Please."

Nicole could not agree to this. After all, this matter concerned Samuel and Zoe.

She whispered, "Mr. Humfrey, if possible, I won't disturb Mrs. Humfrey. But now, Juliana has disappeared with my husband and daughter. My husband is the current leader of the Harper Town. I have to ask Mrs. Humfrey about this."

Asher was shocked.

"Impossible. How could Juliana possibly do such a thing to Mr. Green and Miss Zoe?"

"I don't believe it either, so I came to look into it. After all, neither my husband nor I want to be enemies with the Bryan Town."

Asher fell silent for a moment.

"That evil girl! I'll break her legs!"

"We have to find her first."

As Nicole spoke, she walked in. This time, Asher did not stop her.

Sally had quietly stayed behind Nicole the whole while and followed her when she walked inside the room.

Asher did not know Sally's identity, so he naturally did not dare to stop her.

When Nicole came to Mrs. Humfrey's bed, Mrs. Humfrey happened to wake up.

"Mrs. Green, this is..."

"Mrs. Humfrey, can I have a few words with you alone?"

Nicole's gaze was gentle, giving people a very comfortable feeling.

Mrs. Humfrey nodded and said to Asher with a smile, "I want to have the black-boned chicken soup that you personally stew. Will you go and prepare it for me?"

How could Asher refuse when his wife asked for this?

"Don't get too excited."

Asher reminded her before leaving.

Sally also walked out under Nicole's gesture.

When only Nicole and Mrs. Humfrey were left in the room, Mrs. Humfrey looked worried.

Nicole was filled with excitement, but she was also somewhat worried.

Amelia hadn't woken up after taking the poison. Even if she was a descendant of the Brown family, she couldn't do anything now. But this information still made Nicole happy.

"Thank you, Mrs. Humfrey. You take good care of yourself. I'll see you later."

Nicole smiled faintly, full of tenderness.

Mrs. Humfrey nodded and said, "Although I married into the Bryan Town, the Harper Town is my maiden family. The tragedy of the extermination of the whole town saddens me every time I think about it. Mrs. Green, there is no need to doubt me or Juliana. I dare to use my life to guarantee that Juliana is definitely not a traitor or a treacherous person."

"I believe you."

Nicole rarely trusted people, but at this moment, she was willing to believe Mrs. Humfrey. Perhaps it was because she was one of the few people left from the Harper Town, or perhaps it was because they were both a mother.

They talked a while longer, and Nicole stood up and left.

Seeing Nicole come out, Sally hurriedly walked up to her.

"Did you get any information?"

"Yes."

Nicole nodded. "I want to go to the hospital to see Amelia. Sally, you can go back."

"Let me go with you. There are too many people in the hospital. I'm afraid that something will happen."

Sally's considerations caused Nicole to pause for a moment.

"Alright."

Nicole did not refuse and drove to the hospital with Sally.

Jarrod was surprised when he saw them, but he remained calm. He just said indifferently, "She hasn't woken up yet. If you came because of the formation, you will get disappointed."

Nicole was astonished.

"You know about the formation?"

When Amelia brought them into the Eight Trigrams Formation, Jarrod wasn't there, but now that he had accurately stated their purpose, Nicole realized something.

Jarrod said indifferently, "Amelia told me when I was unconscious."

He told Nicole and Sally what Amelia had said.

Nicole was shocked. She didn't expect Amelia to have such a sad life story.

However, she still couldn't understand one thing.

"Jarrod, I don't mean to maliciously doubt Amelia. However, if what you said is true, then there should be a deep hatred between Amelia and Aaron. Then why did Amelia let Aaron go?"
