“Hey there, buddy, my name is Xavier Saxon.”
Xavier took the initiative to extend his hand, his smile polite and entirely friendly.
“Who are you calling buddy?” Kurt wore a nasty scowl, looking like a ticking time bomb ready to explode.
“?”
Xavier paused, the smile on his face stiffening slightly. He awkwardly replied, “My apologies. May I ask your name?”
“No.”
Kurt crossed his arms over his chest, committing entirely to being as rude as humanly possible.
This guy was clearly trying to steal his girl; he definitely wasn't going to smile at him.
“?”
Hearing the commotion, Ebony Fox turned around, her eyes locking onto Xavier.
Hmm?
This face, those eyes... he actually did look a little familiar.
Did he know her?
This exhibition match was heavily sponsored by him, too.
There had to be some deeper connection.
“Hello.”
Xavier offered a gentle smile. Considering how crowded the venue was, he didn't want to say too much and cause a misunderstanding that might bring Ebony Fox trouble. Politely, he asked, “Ms. Fox, do you have time to grab a coffee? There's something I'd love to discuss with you.”
“She doesn't like coffee!”
Kurt rejected him without skipping a beat. His male intuition was screaming at him.
This guy was up to no good.
“If you have something to say, say it now.”
When Kurt glanced back at Ebony Fox, he noticed she was staring intently at the man too.
The guy was tall, well-built, slightly older than him, and practically radiating mature, masculine charm.
Standing next to Ebony Fox, they actually looked frustratingly compatible.
If he weren't completely head over heels for Ebony Fox himself, he might have even shipped them.
Too bad.
He loved Ebony Fox. He was dead set on her.
No one was going to snatch her away.
“Ebony Fox, let's go get milkshakes at that place by the entrance,” Kurt said, staring at her with wide, sincere eyes. “They have those pastries you like.”
“You go ahead.”
Ebony Fox glanced up at him before speaking softly. “Lead the way, Mr. Saxon.”
Kurt: “?”
A faint, triumphant smile touched Xavier's lips as he gestured respectfully, “Ms. Fox, right this way.”
“Mm.”
