Ava ment some time with her friends, Ignoring the conversations between her and lan popping in her mind. Tonight she felt as though something heavy had been lifted from her heart.

The fact that no one would accuse her from today made her very happy.

She was free.

She had no fear of humiliation.

Sitting on a couch, Ava looked around the hall. She had bee looking for Dane since the moment she returned. However, he went somewhere, and she was unable to locate him. She expected to find him later, after spending some time with Abigail and Debra.

But it had been half an hour and Dane had not yet returned

“Are you trying to find Alpha Dane?” As she followed Ava’s eyes, Debra Inquired.

Ava gave a head nod. “Yeah. Where is he?”

“Maybe he left the party,” Abigail said.

Ava turned to look at her. “Left? No way.”

Ava took her phone out of her bag to call Dane. However, she was surprised to see Dane’s message.

She read the text in silence.

“I am outside near the car. You can enjoy the party and come out whenever you want.”

Ava locked the phone and looked at her friends. “He is outside. I think I should leave now.”

Abigail and Debra exchanged glances before nodding their heads.

“Sure.”

Ava got up from the couch and glanced at Stephen. He looked upset as he sat in a corner, holding a glass of beer.

Suddenly she remembered something and turned to Debra,

“What’s going on between you and my brother?”

Debra was surprised at first. But then her gaze moved to Griffin, who was talking with Beta Bruno.

She smirked and replied, “As I said before, I like his cute face. A handsome wizard is good to date, you know.”

Ava sighed, folding her arms across her chest. Debra looked up at her with a confused face.

“What?”

Ava glanced at Abigail, who appeared to be perplexed as well. Ava returned her gaze to Debra, clarifying her question.

“What is going on between you and Stephen, Debra?”

Debra’s eyes widened as if she had not expected the question. “W–What are you saying?”

Abigail turned to Debra and asked,

“Are you hiding something from us, Deb?!!

Abigail avoided looking at the other two and muttered,

“Ava, Alpha Dane may be expecting you. You should not make him wait. We can talk about it later.”

Ava shook her head, laughing at her friends expressions. “Okay, fine. We will have important talks.”

After thinking about her own self, she muttered,

“I also have a secret I would like to share with you two.”

Debra and Abigail both looked up at her, looking confused. Didn’t they already know all of Ava’sts?

Ava took her leave from them and walked gracefully out of the party hall.

When she walked to Dane’s car, she found him outside his car, smoking.

“You are smoking? It’s not good for your health, I told you.”

Dane threw the half–burned cigarette. “Fine?”

“Yeah,” Ava replied, chuckling.

Dane examined her face and said,

“Where were you at that time?”

His question froze Ava. She rubbed her fingers against her palm, feeling nervous.

“You mentioned that you went to see Abigail. But after you had left, Abigail came back to the hall.”

Ava lowered her head, thinking she should be honest with him.

She reached out her hands and grabbed his sleeves. With a soft voice, she spoke,

“Dane.”

He raised his hand, pushing a hair strand from her face behind her ear.

Ava closed her eyes when she felt his touch. It made her think of Jan’s touch. But that was not the same as this. That touch was something she could not understand.
