Ava was shocked. She was not expecting this. Her guess was that Nova was Ian’s fiancée.

Never in her life did she expect it to be Freya. She recalled what her friends had said. Her brows rose up when she realized that Freya was also a beta’s daughter.

Freya had not noticed her yet. She politely greeted Ian’s and Ava’s parents. Ian gestured with his hand to a couch, and they went to sit there.

Unintentionally, Ava’s eyes followed their movements. She noticed them sitting on a couch, where she could see them clearly.

The other boy was Dane, who Freya wanted to be with. Ian hated Dane because of that.

Ava was so preoccupied with her thoughts that she could not notice how the smile faded on the woman’s face who was sitting beside her ex–boyfriend.

“You!”

Hearing Freya’s voice, Ava turned her head to her.

Freya appeared to be shocked to see Ava there. She had no idea who Ava was or what her family background was. She was only aware that she was an employee of Dane’s company. It was only because she had seen her twice at Dane’s house.

“I forgot to introduce you to her, darling. Meet Ava Taylor, my former Gamma’s daughter, and Stephen’s sister.”

Freya stared at her as though she was trying to read her eyes. Ava did not move her eyes, as if she wanted to convey her intention not to say anything.

“Yes, we met at a club,” Freya said, turning to Ian.

Ian chuckled as he shook his head.

“I am curious what Miss Harrison was doing in the club.”

Right then Ava’s gaze moved to him. Their eyes locked as they looked at each other.

Ava could tell he wanted to humiliate her in front of everyone.

She smiled and responded,

“I don’t think I need to give that answer, Alpha.”

Ian’s eyes darkened when he heard her sarcastic tone.
